The Amazon Shopper Panel is an opt-in, invitation-only program where participants can earn monthly rewards by sharing receipts from purchases made outside of Amazon.com, completing short surveys, and enabling ad verification for the ads they see from Amazon’s own advertising or third-party businesses that advertise through Amazon Ads.

Earning rewards is easy. Participation in the Amazon Shopper Panel is voluntary and panelists can stop using the app, sharing receipts, answering survey questions, or enabling ad verification at any time. Amazon only receives information that panelists explicitly choose to share via the Shopper Panel, such as information extracted from uploaded receipts (including product or retailer names), survey responses, or ads they have seen.

VpnService Utilization: If you enable the ad verification feature, the Amazon Shopper Panel will utilize Android's VpnService to setup a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection. The Amazon Shopper Panel will not install a VPN on your device but does use VPN device permissions to setup an Amazon DNS (https://panel.amazon.com/#faq-how-panel-using-ads), which enables Amazon to collect and use information about the ads you see from Amazon. This can include Amazon’s own advertising or ads from third-party businesses that advertise through Amazon Ads. The Amazon DNS set up is not required to enable the other Amazon Shopper Panel features. You can opt out of ad verification at any time.

The Amazon Shopper Panel is available to a limited number of Amazon customers in the US. If you received an invitation, download the app now. Interested customers who did not receive an invitation can download the app to join the waitlist and will be notified via email if space becomes available.

With the new rewards system, I am definitely disappointed. Not only do I have to submit 3X-6X as many receipts as before for the same reward, but I have experienced quite a few issues. First, stores are not being categorized correctly which makes a big difference in rewards. Best buy is an electronics store and not a craft store! Ross Dress for Less is a department store, not a food store! And when I ask for receipts to be reviewed, nothing is actually reviewed/changes.

EDIT: This used to be a great app. But the bazillion dollar company Amazon decided they didn't want to pay out reasonable rates. It used to be the easiest. Now, no. If you shop on Amazon, even occasionally, you need to get this app. Upload receipts and/or take very short surveys and earn credit to use toward Amazon orders. I've tried many like this, but this is the easiest. For ten receipts per month you earn ten bucks per month.. surveys are usual 25 cents or more and just add to the total.

Since Amazon reduced their payouts on receipts, the Shopper Panel simply isn't worth using as a service anymore. You used to need 10 viable receipts to get your payout of $10 a month. With the new changes, I just entered 23 receipts and have a total payout of $2.50. Amazon still wants to learn yours and others buying habits and get a better handle regional purchasing schemas, they are just done with paying what the data is relatively worth. Don't get suckered into giving them more of your data.
