I have been using Android Auto for 8 years and have seen improvements in car manufacturer equipping vehicles with this product. With the recent integration with WAZE features I'm still getting use to these. And I appreciate the UI color pallet update earlier in the year. The app has some features that the UX and UI could be improved on. One example: navigation card UI - can be swiped to see future directions. The visual affordances are not clear this is a feature.

Repeatedly crashes. Repeatedly disconnects. Some days I go through a five minute loop of my car playing an FM station. Android Auto loads, then auto plays. Then a few seconds later crashes. Back to FM. Android Auto restarts. My phone dings a few times. Car switchers from FM to autoplay Android Auto. App crashes. Doesn't matter if I tell my car to stay on FM, I get in this cycle. When it doesn't crash, it often just won't connect, and it won't reconnect until I pull over and restart the car.

GPS and Spotify. It's all I need. My only complaint is that Google Maps and Android auto has this weird "synergy" where once you've started your car, it will take control of the Google Maps app on your phone; it will only show you a list of roads to turn on on your phone, and you won't be able to do any location searches, nor will you be able to report hazards to other drivers. Android Auto version of Google Maps has a few features missing, and you cannot access those features on your phone.
