2024-11-28 | Gregory Phillips | I have been using Android Auto for 8 years and have seen improvements in car manufacturer equipping vehicles with this product. With the recent integration with WAZE features I'm still getting use to these. And I appreciate the UI color pallet update earlier in the year. The app has some features that the UX and UI could be improved on. One example: navigation card UI - can be swiped to see future directions. The visual affordances are not clear this is a feature.
2024-11-28 | Brad Peterson | Repeatedly crashes. Repeatedly disconnects. Some days I go through a five minute loop of my car playing an FM station. Android Auto loads, then auto plays. Then a few seconds later crashes. Back to FM. Android Auto restarts. My phone dings a few times. Car switchers from FM to autoplay Android Auto. App crashes. Doesn't matter if I tell my car to stay on FM, I get in this cycle. When it doesn't crash, it often just won't connect, and it won't reconnect until I pull over and restart the car.
2024-11-27 | Sput | GPS and Spotify. It's all I need. My only complaint is that Google Maps and Android auto has this weird "synergy" where once you've started your car, it will take control of the Google Maps app on your phone; it will only show you a list of roads to turn on on your phone, and you won't be able to do any location searches, nor will you be able to report hazards to other drivers. Android Auto version of Google Maps has a few features missing, and you cannot access those features on your phone.
2024-11-27 | Cathy C. | My experience is identical to that of another reviewer: the app keeps stopping for no reason. At first I thought the problem was the cable, so I kept replacing them. But my cable meets the specs. The only thing that works is unplugging/replugging it, which is not always easy when driving. It seems whenever I really need it, e.g., if I encounter something unexpected en route and have to make a quick decision, it's frozen. in fact it's frozen as often as not, making it completely unreliable.
2024-11-27 | Austin Miles-Cullison (Lama) | (almost) The worst thing that ever happened to Google Maps LOL and the first thing I disable on every new device. Why not make the map interface change suddenly as soon as WE can tell the person is in a car, (which is really when they've picked up enough speed for focus to be vital) for safety. Brilliant move, gentlemen, Brilliant!
2024-11-26 | Jen M | It was great but then it stopped responding to my voice. So I can listen to music/podcasts on my phone or using Google maps/Waze no problem. Me trying to call someone or give it a voice command then it can not hear me at all. So annoying. Love it and then just changed and can't figure out why it changed. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling still didn't work. I can't find a fix online.
2024-11-26 | Mike Mann | I've been using Android Auto for years, and it’s been a great experience overall. I really appreciate how easy it is to switch between maps and various apps within the system, making it convenient and user-friendly. The auto-connect feature is a nice touch, though occasionally it keeps trying to reconnect to my phone when I don’t want it to. However, that seems more like a Bluetooth issue with my phone than a problem with Android Auto itself. Overall, it’s a fantastic product, and I’ve encounter
2024-11-26 | Jeffery Wayne Boyce | The app is typically fine. Not sure if it is the app in the car or app on my phone, but occasionally it stops connecting. I have to just go without the connection, because no matter what you try, it won't just suddenly connect. But the next time I run on the car it connects just fine. Also, sometimes the car app loses responsiveness. As in not accepting touch inputs, but it is displaying fine. This issue is easier to resolve, but you don't want to be trouble shooting going 60 mph.
2024-11-26 | Melissa Stellwagen | Android auto is excellent and far better than the garbage the auto manufacturers provide by far... If you can get it to connect. Some days it connects fine, some days insist on the car for 5 minutes fiddling with it, some days it just won't work and I have to use a cable which also doesn't always work. If it would connect more reliably I would give it 5 stars.
2024-11-26 | T Bev | Android Auto has been hit or miss, so far. I like what it's supposed to do. In theory, it should add more hands-free control of my phone, along with access to more apps. In reality, it's hard to get anything to run. I can't customize my screen because there are so few options. I can't always get Google Maps to load. Google Assistant often fails to respond through my sound system, or if she does, there's a long delay. I would love to make more use of this, but it just isn't flexible. |
