2024-11-30 | Greg Steward | Two things prevent this from being a 5 star app 1. Sometimes, messages take over 5 minutes to push through. 2. And the most annoying part, the bubble indicators randomly stop. I have an S23 Ultra. All notifications and the indicator are on as well as the person I'm texting also has it on, but for me, it comes in goes. Stays on for a week. Off for 3 weeks with no change in settings.
2024-11-28 | Lauren Wickert | I've been using signal for years, but apparently the default is for the chat back up to be disabled, and there is no cloud. I tried to open the app on my tablet, but it signed me out on my phone without warning and without prompting for a sync, which then lost all of my message history. There is no way to get them back because signal doesn't save anything and unless you had the foresight to manually enable your backup, you'll never see those messages or pictures again. Thanks signal. You suck.
2024-11-28 | Mr. Riley | We need higher quality audio for recordings. It's currently, pretty bad. Devs, help? I adore this app but it's a distinct issue. I send a 30 sec audio recording of a song playing, it's hilariously poor quality. Not a deal breaker by any means. But something to consider. Thank you for everything that you guys do tho. 💚
2024-11-26 | Eric Beau | Video calls aren't the best and nor our voice calls. Many times I've called and it hasn't even ring on the other person's end. But it will missed call. And there's times that they call me and the phone doesn't ring but it'll show missed call. Other times I'll send a text message and it'll only show one check mark. But then when I send the next message it pushes the last message through. So that one gets double check marks. But the one I just sent has a single one. It's really strange
2024-11-19 | First Last | Frictionless drop in replacement for texting/SMS/imessage. Simple, convenient, cross-platform, full of great features, and as secure as you can get without anonymous sign-ups or a tech savvy user base. When I have any trouble with SMS or normal phone calls: I just force the person I'm communicating with to switch, and this just works.
2024-11-17 | Fernando Antunez | Much difficult to sync the Desktop with Android phone. Was perfect, but at a certain point when Signal was closing in the Android phone without any reason. Uninstalled it and then... never more a normal sync. On the Desktop I have much more messages that in the Android. The desktop does not recognize all the contacts in the Android, and so on, and so on...
2024-11-15 | Raul Torres | Simply one of, if not the best secure messaging app. Development updates are frequent. The secure protocol along with disappearing messages ensures no other servers or device outside your own would ever have a copy of sensitive data, making compliance with handing over info if requested by ANY state/authority MOOT. The overall UX design is compact and minimal which helps a ton on low memory devices. My only complaint is lack of widespread adoption within most of my contacts and getting them to.
2024-11-13 | Nick James | App works well. I'm on android and sms sucks. And while rcs is a lot better its still lacking. I find myself constantly sending pictures or larger items through Fb messenger since text can't handle it. However now that I'm using signal I'm finding all my previous issues with text are gone. The note to self feature is also a prime example of clearly knowing what your users want and doing it right.
2024-11-08 | Deuce Lake | Well made and very secure. However, it is not perfect, since you still have to use some very personal info to even use it which ironically can make it less safe than using the services of Discord of all things since you immediately give away your phone info by simply talking to someone. But otherwise, well made and even feels private.
2024-11-04 | Adam Hooyer | Awesome privacy focused messaging app. Would love to see scheduled messages be added on the future. Love the stickers and the fact you can add your own is a great idea. Desktop companion app is well made and stays up to date. Edit: There is now scheduled messages! Here is hoping that a message editing system is added. Edit 2: Editing was added to message. I would recommend this app to use daily messaging not just because of the privacy but for the extra chat functionality. |
