2024-11-09 | Colin Parr | Edit: I've had some problems with the app lately. I noticed that it doesn't always ring the bell every minute on the minute. It usually starts ringing at 00 seconds, but this morning, over 10 minutes, it rang at :37 seconds and :17 seconds before starting to work correctly again. This is with unrestricted battery access. Very distracting. ___ Simple interface; it does one thing only and does it well. Perfect for what I needed. When Calm limited me to 3 sessions and then wanted cash, I came here.
2024-08-19 | Kaye F | I love this app. It has an evening mode so it won't ring during certain hours and while you're asleep. I have found this extremely helpful and have it go off every 35 min during the day. I even had my boss walk in when it went off one time and still allowed myself a deep breath. It is a constant reminder that I am a human, when it's easy to lose sight of that when super busy at work.
2024-06-11 | Devin | The mindfulness bell has worked out pretty well for me so far! I work from home and find myself feeling tense and stressed without realizing it. This has helped me to establish regular check-ins with myself and take a moment to breathe and slow down. I take calls throughout the day, so having the option for a gentle vibration is nice versus a loud or continuous bell that will distract or interrupt calls. Thank you!
2024-04-02 | Gideon Y | Simple. Functional. Only thing I'd like is an option to set the volume independent of media volume. Sometimes I forget to turn the volume back down after listening to something quiet and the next bell is jarringly loud... I've scared myself a few times 😄. Alternatively, setting the chime volume lower in the app may end up being too quiet if I've lowered the media volume. Other than that, it's great. Works as intended!
2024-01-20 | Judy Powelson | I use this to time workout intervals. (My favorite transition sound is a dog bark.) I set the time unit (the bottom item on the "Settings" screen) to seconds and the interval to a round number of minutes plus one second. This allows me to count my intervals easily using the seconds value in the "Next bell at" notification bar.
2023-12-20 | Harlan Neumann | Does exactly what's on the tin with a couple added buttons for convenience. No constant pop up ads, just a bell. it's great to see something so simple in a time where everything is trying to overcomplicate. heads up, when they tell you to turn off battery optimization for this app, do it haha. they're not kidding when they say it won't work otherwise
2023-11-29 | alistair beattie | This is a good app - it does what you need. I have recently upgraded to the "for life" ad-free version and I really like it. There are a couple of small things that would make it even better. Firstly, a bell when you start the timer would be helpful so that you know your settings are correct and the bell is the right volume. Second, some more choice of very simple short beeps that are less intrusive would be nice to have.
2023-10-24 | Wendy Humphries | easy to use. love the random feature which also includes the ability to have a do not disturb window. I have to manually kick it off/reset every morning which may ne a bug? but it's a very small inconvenience compared to the usefulness of the app itself. not many apps do what this simple functionality and I'm glad to have found this one
2023-09-24 | Caroline Browning | This is the only app I've tried offering the very simple thing that I want: a vibration-based alert that goes off every X minutes. I have it set to go off every 20 minutes for blinking exercises and I didn't want it to make noise while I'm in meetings. The only thing I don't like is how, after it goes off, there's a notification that stays up and says "running." I'd love to disable that part or have the notification go away after the vibration ends.
2023-08-14 | Mandy Facchin | Just right for my needs. Plum village bell app was too glitchy so I sought an alternative. This one is perfect. Happy to see the ability to force the bells on the top of the hour/quarters rather than every 15 mins. Update: I am still using this bell in 2023 and enjoying it. My only complaint is that the bell goes off while I am taking videos on my phone and the camera records it, so it sometimes disrupts my home videos. Hope that can be worked out eventually! |
