2024-01-17 | CGS Jr | Why do these bubble level apps require a perfectly level surface to calibrate? I should be able to 1)calibrate 2)turn phone 180 degrees 3) calibrate. 4) the bubble level app uses those two readings to determine the angle of the surface and calibrate the phone. There was an app called 'Clinometer' that did that beautifully. Sadly it no longer works on my phone. I am going to post this review on the other bubble level apps that I have tried hoping to motivate the devs to 'fix' their app.
2023-12-19 | R Ferringo | Was good until this last update which is no longer ad free. After the update it gives you the option to regulate the push ads but then hits you with a closed door. Either take some ads or buy the full version or it won't open at all. There are other apps like this so this one gets deleted. Face it, the accuracy of an app like this is completely dependent on your phones sensor hardware and no app is going to change the precision of the sensor chip.
2023-11-02 | Mike Clark | In 2020 I gave this app five stars. It was absolutely free and worked like a champ. It's been updated automatically to version 2.1.2 and the devs have messed it up. Now it has ads. However you can pay to have them removed. It used to be easy to use, emulating a typical bubble level (in fact that's the name of the app) but not anymore, there's nary a bubble to be seen. Note to developers: there's an old saying that applies. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
2023-10-26 | Ken Wilkins | Does all that you expect, and is promised. But it loses a star because it insists on connecting to the network. Something that it should not need to do, and because the connection is refused by my settings, it activates the annoying system alert sound. You don't need it, so don't do it, and then you'll get your 5th star
2023-03-06 | William Wallace | Horrible color scheme. Depending on the angle, the numbers flip to upside down. They are already too small to be read, so the app is effectively unusable. I have an earlier version of this app on an old smartphone, and the previous version is FAR better than this one. Sometimes newer is not better, and "improved" isn't always an improvement. I don't know what the developer was thinking, but he forgot the prime directive: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
2023-02-07 | Raymond Morris | Absolutely brilliant Works perfectly and is incredibly accurate 5 Gold Stars. Review updated Was 5 star until layout changed and ads it's now awful - I would have happily pay £4.50 for the original version but now I'm going to uninstall because it's rubbish. It's not even worth the 1 star. DEVELOPER - IF IT ISN'T BROKEN - DON'T FIX IT.
2022-09-02 | James Ferguson | Excellent when you get the calibration... Calibration is sort of explained in the full app description, but it's still a bit unclear. Basically put it on a surface, tap the target icon, spin it 180⁰ and tap it again. Done. You can confirm it by checking you get the same angle whichever way around the phone is. The display is great for accurate leveling. Better than a pretend bubble.
2022-06-27 | Video Redeemer | Lightweight, simple to use, easy to read. Gathering complex angles for CAD and Aero drawings of a car can be tedious, this helps get the angles you need. No intrusive ads to block the information you need. Easy to read from a distance, and a lightweight app that wont bog down your tool filled phone. Couldn't ask for anything better.
2022-06-25 | Robert Trost | Absolute garbage app!!! Couldn't find my level so after reading all the good reviews I got this. Putting up a 26" wide shelf. After checking and re-checking numerous times of the app saying it was level, it was not. It is a half inch difference from end to end, I had to drill half inch holes for the anchors.
2022-05-09 | Gary Morphy | It works well so far. Advertisements are a bit of an annoyance, but such is the cost of a free app. Definitely worth it to have a level in your pocket (but better except for the lack of length) and be able to measure angles with confidence rather than guess. |
