2024-12-13 | D cc | Love the app, wish it had a option to listen to scripture being read..but, honestly it's still great because it really forces you to read the word instead of just listening. That's a great advantage when you can't read at the moment but for me I tend to get lazy and listen when I need to be reading. So really my comment is just me whistling in the dark..it's a wonderful app..love the lexacon option. All in all great app..
2024-09-15 | Ian Paul | This app ties for second place, after e-Sword, with the inWord app. Although it does not have as many features as either e-Sword or inWord, the features it has are so powerful that it is a must have Bible study tool. I am a fan of the NASB '95, even though it has an "orthodoxy" bias; but, it''s nice that Literal Word has recently added the ESV and John MacArthur, Jr.'s hyper "orthodox" biased Legacy Standard Version. It also now has the KJV (but, it's as useful as a Eubonics version).
2024-08-30 | Agent 187 | Great Bible app! Minimalist UI, classy design, nice-looking fonts and the RIGHT Bible versions! Also, you can tap on key words to view parsing and definitions. If you need other functions just use a second app or full website with all the "bloat," but this is perfect for what it does. A labor of love! UPDATE: missing some translation notes; the footnote indicator is there but no footnote!
2024-08-24 | infernalcoin s | Really great app. Clean and easy to use. It has been a cornerstone in my learning of God. I wish there was someplace where I could donate (let me know if there is). I would love it if I could export my notes and highlights into a spreadsheet though. I also would like it if they included all of the original Hebrew instead of just fragments. Finally I would like it if the hebrew that they did show was also shown contextually too, instead of just lexically.
2024-07-23 | Darlok Williams | By far the best Bible app available for any mobile device! God's inspired Word is front-and-center in every area of the app. It includes powerful word searches, complete Hebrew/Aramaic/Greek dictionaries, incredibly intuitive navigation options, and the KJV, NASB, ESV, and LSB translations. Completely ad-free as well. Well done, developers!
2024-06-15 | Doug Harold | I've used many Bible apps, but this one is a favorite. The Literal Word also has a website, but the app is more functional and includes the (4) best translations (NAS95, LSB, ESV, KJV). The website only has NASB & ESV. The app lets you highlight parts of a verse with different words or phrases in different colors. Other Bible apps only let you highlight entire verses. I do wish I could sync notes and highlights with the website though, and underline. Also, needs an interlinear.
2024-05-18 | Jeremy Griffith | Absolutely wonderful! Thank you for such an incredible presentation of the Bible & such a simple, intuitive method of studying & moving through the Word. It's fast, efficient, clean & minimal, but deeply thorough with the Greek and Hebrew lexicons. One suggestion - your search function is wonderful & visual, but it would be helpful if our own notes could be indexed & accessed in the search. I have built a lrg collection and I use symbols to organize & categorize, but I can't search by them.
2024-03-13 | B A | I can't get over that this is a STUDY Bible that's FREE, with no ads! I recommended it to a friend who needs big print, but I'm loving it too. It has: Hebrew and Greek lexicons, cross-references at the bottom when you select a verse, 5 colors of backgrounds, 6 colors of highlights, a personal notes area, and more! Plus you can either sign in, or never sign in: your choice! Somebody went to a lot of time & effort to create this beautiful app for us! Thank you!
2024-02-22 | Matthew Hanna | Well, the app now has the zoomies. Nothing worse than reading a passage and the whole thing zooms in to almost just one word. You then have to manually zoom back out looking for that right font size. Ugggg... Old & fixed: It's a good app that removes the verses making reading easier. The only thing to watch out for is when you approach a new chapter be sure to tap on the last couple of sentences. There is often a whole lot more text hidden that you might not know about.
2023-09-19 | Matthew Tuck | When I first downloaded this app in 2021, it only offered the NASB95 translation. With today's (9/18/23) update, three more translations have been added: LSB, ESV, and KJV. I was a little worried that the notes I made in the original NASB95 version would not transfer over, but they found a way to make those available across the various translations. Excellent translations, excellent user experience. |
