Literal Word exists to promote the word of God and not much else. No ads. No articles. No distractions. Simply the Word. We believe that the Bible contains the most important information that anyone could ever come across and that accessing it should be as easy as possible.

This belief has driven every decision we've made designing Literal Word. The app is 100% free and functional even when you're offline. The NASB 1995, LSB, ESV, and KJV translations of the Bible were selected for faithfully utilizing a word-for-word instead of a thought-for-thought translation method. Each passage of the Bible is clean, customizable, and convenient to access, allowing the reader to focus exclusively on the God-breathed content. Word searches are simple but powerful, featuring a unique visual interface for organizing results with precision, and complete lexicons for original Hebrew and Greek words can be viewed with just a couple taps.

It really comes down to the fact that a straightforward approach to a Bible app maximizes attention to the word of God.

Love the app, wish it had a option to listen to scripture being read..but, honestly it's still great because it really forces you to read the word instead of just listening. That's a great advantage when you can't read at the moment but for me I tend to get lazy and listen when I need to be reading. So really my comment is just me whistling in the dark..it's a wonderful app..love the lexacon option. All in all great app..

This app ties for second place, after e-Sword, with the inWord app. Although it does not have as many features as either e-Sword or inWord, the features it has are so powerful that it is a must have Bible study tool. I am a fan of the NASB '95, even though it has an "orthodoxy" bias; but, it''s nice that Literal Word has recently added the ESV and John MacArthur, Jr.'s hyper "orthodox" biased Legacy Standard Version. It also now has the KJV (but, it's as useful as a Eubonics version).

Great Bible app! Minimalist UI, classy design, nice-looking fonts and the RIGHT Bible versions! Also, you can tap on key words to view parsing and definitions. If you need other functions just use a second app or full website with all the "bloat," but this is perfect for what it does. A labor of love! UPDATE: missing some translation notes; the footnote indicator is there but no footnote!
