2024-12-02 | Gabriella Fackler | This is a horrible app. Please fix the near constant issues with it not connecting properly to the TV. It will very randomly choose not to turn the TV on. I will turn the TV on myself, and still can't get the app to connect, it just says it's "offline" even though phone Bluetooth is on, and TV is on properly. This app is a nightmare to use. Please fix.
2024-11-30 | Barbara S (Cat Mom in New Bedford) | Not impressed. I have a combo washer dryer. I would like to create a custom cycle (air fluff to remove pet hair followed by wash cycle). No can do. New routine *must* start with normal wash cycle. It could be much more useful. But I do get notifications when the cycle is complete. So two stars.
2024-11-28 | Gary Dawson | Almost pointless. Can't manage or remotely start appliances. I have a 2024 range, washer, and dryer. I suppose it's nice to have notifications which is why 2 stars instead of 1. I like the appliances in person but this app seems to have been designed by paranoid legal or business people rather than tech or smart home enthusiasts. It's pathetic that LG spends more time posting condescending replies in the Play Store rather than working to improve the usefulness and reliability of the app itself.
2024-11-26 | BlitzinMack | For many updates the app would say my TV was off when it was on and wouldn't work as a remote. I finally cleared the data and now I can't even add my TV. It sees the TV, asks me to enter the code, but then just shows the loading symbol in perpetuity even though the TV itself says my phone is ready to connect. Edit: it's not the TV. It's updated (auto update is on) and the tv part is successful and says it's ready but the phone never stops loading after you input the code the TV gives.
2024-11-25 | Kevin Gallagher | I can't begin to say how terrible this app is. It could be my TV, but there both made by LG so either way.... The TV works flawlessly with the physical remote. With the app there is a 10 second delay between hitting a button and the TV responding. I can't swear here, but I really want to convey how insultingly terrible this app is. Get a Roku. (Update 11/24). Still sucks. Disconnects, the TV is very slow to respond... Still get a Roku.
2024-11-24 | Kenneth Meyer | The app rarely works for me. It constantly requests permissions that it already has.. and how much location data does it need anyway. Just another creepy app collecting way more data than is needed for it's functions. Location is not necessary to control my TV... nearby devices is completely sufficient, but lg recently changed the app so that it deliberately prevents you from using most of the remote control functions without location permissions... extra creep.
2024-11-23 | D M | Used to be a good app until latest update started forcing location permission to use TV remote feature. I cannot control TV without enabling PRECISE location data. Also shares location data with 3rd parties. I'll use a 3rd party app that doesn't need to have my location to turn up the volume on a TV I bought. Edit to LG's answer:You lie. Location isn't needed to "search 4 network" I dont need this app using location draining my battery just to control the tv. LG is overstepping forcing location.
2024-11-22 | Bradley Rex | It's not good. Being forced to install this app due to lg soundbar no longer being available I downloaded it made an account, and when trying to add my soundbar, it says it's already added, and I can't add it, delete it and try to add it again. how can I delete it if it never displays in the app, and then it tells me only devices after 2024 are supported? What does that even mean? All I know is my brand new soundbar I bought two months ago no longer active in there new app, making it unusable.
2024-11-21 | Mike Hernandez | Cannot add any devices to the app without giving it precise location access. They'll lie to you and say it's for app functionality, but it's because they're selling your data. Edit: When they tell you location is needed to set up your device, ask why the app still requires location *after* everything is set up, and why the app permissions explicitly say that they'll share your data with third parties. Do not trust LG on this one.
2024-11-19 | Dan Roberts | Slow, buggy app! The reason it gets two stars is because it works ok with my LG washer and dryer. However, the Premium Care warranties I purchased for both appliances are still not listed in the app and it's been months since I added the appliances to the app. The app remote control function for my LG TV is extremely buggy and unresponsive. If my phone sits idle for just a few minutes while using the TV remote, the remote interface becomes grayed out and I have to restart the app. Please fix! |
