2024-11-18 | Jane Donerr | amazing and perfectly on time and accurate directions. all the public transit in one spot for anywhere I am or wanna be! I love that you can view and follow whatever transit you're waiting for to see where it really is... also loved the "slingshot yourself" option thought it was hilarious! thank you citymapper!
2024-11-10 | Feliks Jones | This is so useful when trying to navigate a new city. The UI could be better in some areas but it's no biggie. Ads are unintrusive. The plan when the leave and when to arrive feature is so underrated too. Will definately be using even when I get back to my home city.
2024-09-10 | Gerald B. | Worked very well in Paris. The one thing I noticed was that the subway exit number wasn't always accurate and repeatedly landed me on the wrong side of the subway station when emerging. Apart from that very informative and helpful. Phone vibrates when you are close to your station about one to two stations ahead of time. Only used public transport and Uber and did not use the bikes etc. Next time...
2024-08-08 | Samuel Walter | I've been trying the different transit apps over the past few months, and CityMapper is among the best! The interface is beautiful and intuitive, and the real-time bus tracking helps ensure you never miss your ride. This would be my #1 favorite app if not for one thing: no integrated fare payment. I have to use a separate payment app from my local transit agency. This is a feature that the competing Transit app provides, and it makes a much better experience.
2024-07-30 | Gina Sprenkel | Very nice app, offering varied modes of public transportation, how to get there. and how long it takes. The only con so far is that names of places are not always displayed on the outside of the bus as stated on the app, which can be confusing for an international traveler. Missing a bus taught me whether I was correct or incorrect, and do differently next time.
2024-07-18 | De'Vion Dingle | Love this! I'm not accustomed to transport in big cities so on my visit to London, I was very confused by the layout of the directions and ended up going in the wrong direction a lot. Some locals showed me this app and it feels like it's made for kids how simple and not convoluted it is. It is also consistent across locations and transport methods. I just moved to Austin and didn't use it my first day and was again lost, but when I used the app, it felt exactly the same and made sense instantly
2024-07-06 | Rich Mota | awesome app. used it often while vacationing in London in 2024. (walking, taxi, bus). Couldn't have made it around without city mapper. While planning the trip I used Google maps, but it never gave me a choice to use ferries. City mapper will give you best route and alternate routes. Sometimes it made us walk to an underground for 15min when one was right next to us. It also doesn't see you're out of the subway, but you can restart your search and it will work fine. (Android)
2024-05-30 | Debora Crabbe | UPDATE: The app is now shutting down during the trip. I don't understand why that's happening. As soon as I start the trip, it tells me to get off at the next stop, then it shuts down on its own. This doesn't happen with other transit apps. The app is great with estimating and route suggestions, however, at times the best option is not available. An extra bus is added when you can just take one to get to the connection or the destination.
2023-09-29 | Samwise Gamgee | This app is absolutely fantastic, I've had it for 5 years plus in Chicago and it's both traveler friendly and extremely efficient for planning various routes around the city for residents. It's as simple as punching 2 locations in and seeing each option for getting there on CTA, Metra, Divvy, Uber, and the good old shoelace express. Final comment: this app is often literally more accurate than "Ventra," the official app of Chicago's public transit.
2023-06-25 | RoyD Pre | I am the most directionally challenged person I know. I decided to take a friend's recommendation to use this app on my first trip to Europe. I arrived in Italy and was faced with a choice of a $45 cab or a $10 bus ride using City Mapper. The app is amazing it gave me times, mapped and showed the route in real time and even an alert when it was time to get off. I have now used it in 2 counties and I feel very comfortable getting around. Try it. You'll like it! |
