2023-07-01 | Anthony Plough | Last hot season I programmed the ac with the app for each day of the week. I stopped using the wifi and schedule after awhile. Recently we had a power outage and now I gmcant get the app to even open. Or the WiFi connection to turn off on the AC unit. It worked fine when I first got it. It now it doesn't work at all.
2023-05-26 | Matthew Sanges | FINAL UPDATE: This "Artic King" app was quietly retired for the "Midea Air" app, which at least when it changed to the current "MSmartHome" app, the company had the decency to popup a warning to switch over! Unbelievable. The newest app isn't that much better but is smoother. ······ Old Review: App is fine, very barebones; it could easily use better/more descriptions for each function. The text that is there could use some better localization, but it's passable and gets the job done well-enough.
2022-06-20 | Nathan Schild | Last year this app required ZERO permissions, since the update this app now asks for permission for PHOTOS, LOCATION, FILES This is an OBVIOUS data grab, you can decline everytime but the app prompts you everytime you open it so it is very annoying. Please give us the option to opt out of this FOR GOOD, it is annoying to select decline everytime I want to adjust the AC. PS. I plan on dissecting this app to figure out exactly what this company is doing with this data and reporting as needs
2021-11-22 | Heather W | UPDATE: update to the app removed "sleep cycle" settings from app, yet my machine is still operating under that previous sleep cycle & I can't change it as winter approaches. No response from devs. Missing vital step in instructions: when you connect, the phone connection stalls out at 99%. The instructions don't tell you that you have to switch your AC to the unit's signal (password 12345678). The app is useless without that knowledge.
2021-10-13 | Joanna Pierson | Horrible app....keeps switching to "offline" and have to reset the unit and reconnect to wifi to set back online. Takes several minutes have done this 15 times at minimum since I've downloaded the app 8 months ago. Now app crashes when I click in three dots at the to right. Setting keep changing °C when I've set it to °F. Can't change now because app crashes when clicking 3 dots (settings). Please fix this. Someone already reposted to you since Sept. And it's still NOT fixed
2021-06-26 | Scott Quinlin | First it would never see the ac unit either manually or qr. Second it wants location data???? Third it refuses to log in when I first start the app unless I have wifi turned off. Once connected and wifi is back on it constantly tells me I have a bad network, guess gig internet is not good enough. This app has worked one frign time to connect to the ac and now says it is offline even though the router shows the ac unit connected. This has to be worse than an app simple crashing. Reporting app.
2021-06-12 | James Leary | Useless won't even allow me to sign up says my email is incorrect at the sign up page can't even get past it. My email is my email and shouldn't be saying it's incorrect/ wrong format while trying to sign up to use the app feature. If there is a issue with the sign up page and it gets corrected then I'll change my review. As for the AC unit it works great have had for 2 season's now and love it just wish I could create my account to take full advantage of this app and the features my AC offers.
2020-08-30 | Winston Smith | It ain't it My main issue is how slow this app is. My phone's own internet is fine, my home WiFi is even better. The AC window unit is right besides the WiFi. And it's extremely slow. The app lags and then shuts down. I wanted this app so I could schedule to turn on right before I get out of bed. It's not a deal breaker as far as the AC goes, which is their main product. I don't recommend this app. I love Artic King but if I find a brand who's app DOES work, I will gladly buy their ac.
2020-07-01 | Dusty | Had to use the Media Air app to finally get it set up then switch back to the Arctic Air app. Also, like another review mentioned, had to forget my 5G network and turn my airplane mode off and on. Took about an hour to get it all just right and I couldn't tell you had I acutally did it. Just kept changing things till it worked. And STAND VERY CLOSE to the unit when setting it up. It doesn't communicate very far when setting it up.
2020-06-17 | DynamicSkrillz | After reading the reviews I was finally able to get the smart feature to work. You have to allow the app to search your location (not just when the app is active) and once the initial 99% hits manually switch your connection from the AC unit to your wifi and finally back to the AC unit to complete the download. Once its finished it works like a dream. |
