Fire remote app," has a continuous problem; staying connected! I have to restart fire remote app every 20 30 min due to failure to stay connected! The problem is not with my wifi or phone period , so it is due to the apps insufficient ability to stay connected! Thank you and hopefully this issue will be corrected!

The application should recognize the input of physically or Bluetooth linked devices as direct input. Pressing buttons on my controller or linked keyboard should not cycle through the controls on my phone. My phone should have the ability to sens the commands directly to the firestick via the remote app. Particularly: xbox, backbone, keyboards.

Not the best remote. Connectivity is always annoying. If the tv isn't on, it will likely not be able to connect, unlike a regular remote. Interface isn't very clever. It's just basic tv controls with a keyboard function. You would think that using a smart phone as a controlling apparatus, the possibilities would be endless, but no. Much better tv's out there, much better digital remotes. Once I'm done with this tv, I will not be purchasing another fire tv or using this awful remote again.

No option to keep the remote ONLY in the app. I don't want to add the remote to my notification menu, I don't want the app to take up my lock screen. These should be optional. I only want to use this app in its own window. Now I am constantly accidentally pushing buttons on the remote because it is forced onto the lock screen and in the notification menu. Give us options!!!!

Horrible. I'm sorry. The smoothness of the app is good, it's less glitchy than the Roku remote app. BUT IT'S COMPLETELY USELESS if your TV isn't already turned on. With the Roku remote app as long as it was connected to the same wifi I could turn on a TV that was off. With this app, the TV won't show up on the devices list unless it's turned on. If I lost my remote what use is it to have an app that lets me control my TV only if it's powered on and WHY DON'T TVS COME WITH POWER BUTTONS ANYMORE

It's impossible to use now. Continuously disconnects and tries to reconnect to the TV. Raising the volume by 1 increases it to 100 immediately, and lowering by one makes it go to 0. The sensitivity is crazy and it basically renders the TV to be useless without the remote, which was the point of the app in the first place.

Since my real remote stopped working, using this app has helped. But this app makes me want to throw my phone across the room. Starting with it not connecting to my TV like every day! Next, this app doesn't stay on for a long time. I have to keep going back to the remote. Then, I have to keep reconnecting it over and over and over.

FIRE! Figuratively! I lost my remote somewhere within a 3 foot radius of my body, but can't seem to locate it. This app really saved me money on a whole new Firestick! I's bout to crash out if I had to blow bread on a humble! Super responsive! Actually quicker than the remote. Works like a mug!

2nd Edit: still disconnects and lags, nearly useless Edit: got a newer model phone (2024) and am now plagued by frequent disconnects and severely delayed button presses. Have to force-close and re-open app several times just to start a show sometimes. Original review: Can't control volume. My VCR had a remote that worked across the house and controlled volume. Do better

Works ok for navigation. Sucks for entering passwords. Special characters are not always sent to the TV. "|" (pipe) for example. Entering passwords is 90% of why I need this app. (10% is because I can't find the remote). When I mistype a character and user backspace, that's like hitting the back button and then I'm screwed and have to start from scratch, 18 characters in to a 20 character password.
