2024-11-30 | Angelus Delcaos | Great app to play the Lone Wolf books with added automation. It keeps track of stats, inventory, provides random numbers when needed, deals with Meals intelligently, provides a map showing your path. What breaks my heart is the very "modern" micro transactions. By default, you can't "cheat" aside from a few rerolls on checks. You can purchase more rerolls, bookmarks, but 1 by 1, with increasing costs. I'd really appreciate a one time purchase that lets me play as I please.
2024-11-21 | Chris York | I have always loved the books, but unlike reading the books and be able to backtrack. With this game you die at the end of the book and have to restart the whole thing. Gets frustrating
2024-11-03 | Michael Rocha Nunes | Great app! It brings back fond memories of my childhood! For the dev, I just have two hints: in The Legacy of Vashna, when I was in a boat with the acolytes and I punched one of them, the game returned almost to the beginning and suddenly I found myself falling from a tavern (to avoid the loop again, later I choose another path); Grand weapon mastery should allow me to use a two handed weapon with one hand in Sun Knight level, but I can't equip a weapon in second hand if use a two handed weapon.
2024-10-12 | Chris Wood | It's free and it's really well done. The additional charges are not necessary, but a nice way to show support. Excellent, thank you for putting this all together and thanks to Joe Dever for making these books free. Books I've enjoyed from my childhood into adulthood.
2024-09-24 | voteDC | Edit: The update released today 24/9/24 has finally let me import my .lws, finally after over three years I can enter the Jungle of Horrors. Three years after my last review I'm still unable to import the .lws file on a new phone, the app simply does not see the file even if placed in its own folder. This is a great way to experience the Lone Wolf Saga but don't expect to be able to take your progress to a new device.
2024-09-19 | Lemuel Kofi Quainoo Amos | Man I really love it. Nice interface, great stories etc. Keep up the good work. I have a suggestion though, in you next update can you change the image to Lone Wolf bearing the sword ( Sommerswerd) on his back it would be much cooler that way.
2024-01-24 | Tyler King | I've played this series on paper and it is excellent, but it takes a lot of flipping back and forth which slows it down a lot. This app is a perfect translation and makes playing so much easier. It's like having a tabletop rpg in your pocket that starts and stops at your leisure. Anyone who enjoys d&d or other similar games would absolutely love this app. From what I understand it includes the first 30 books, which is an enormous amount of content.
2023-10-09 | Jonathan Ward | I found my first book in a yard sale for a nickel. With this app my childhood lives again! The only thing I wish were different would be an option to be able to roll my own dice and input the result myself. When I was small that was my favorite part. However I understand that this might be a major program change for the app. Thank you so much for your work on this app, it's so awesome!
2023-03-01 | Ken Bailey | One thing I'd recommend is to have an option to have an "Easy Mode" for Book 1 with a custom made character (aka Lone Wolf) with 17 EP and 27 CS, and the Best Starting Equipment and Skills as this would make the game a little easier for new players that you could carry on to the next books. Other then that I totally recommend this app to anyone looking for an easy way to play the whole Lone Wolf series.
2023-01-16 | Jamie Samans | This app is a generally faithful implementation of the Lone Wolf gamebooks. One issue that costs it a star is that it's not possible to use healing items during combat. This dramatically reduces the utility of healing items and makes some combat effectively impossible (e.g. Chaos Master when possessing the Sommerswerd). There's no indication in the gamebooks that laumspur, oede, etc. aren't meant to be usable during combat, and this should be fixed. |
