This app is a great note-taking app. I use it often for that purpose. It has some great basic features like exporting text. It has very uninvasive ads that don't interfere with functionality. I gave it 4 stars out of 5 because the speech recognition isn't great. It often misses words and doesn't pick up on words that I manually correct repeatedly. It also doesn't have an autocorrect feature (as far as i can tell). I have only used this app in English, so I can't review the language functions.

Update: Tried this on a longer paragraph. Not very accurate. Repeatedly repeated short phrases. Not sure it was worth the time to fix. Will read FAQs further. . Works well so far. Very helpful steps to troubleshoot all settings got me up and going. Cannot disassociate this from Google, but ok. Will see if I need to pay and turn off the ads.

Not sure if my Speech notes app is properly installed. It does make a lot of mistakes, but it could be partly my pronunciation. Today, i dictated some paragraphs, and it lost most of them. When i went back to the app, several paragraphs i had inputted via speech and via the keypad were no longer there. I kept looking for the most recent version of the file within Speech notes, but finally gave up. I then saw that the menu has a "Save" option, but i had been thinking it has automatic Save.

I wanted to use this app for journaling, since I have been unable to make typing or writing everything out a sustainable practice. Unfortunately the speech-to-text function misses big chunks of what I am saying, even when I speak very slowly. My favorite, though, was when it inserted a "b****" (censored, nonetheless) into the transcribed text randomly. 😂 I wish I hadn't just blindly paid for the premium version, because I am definitely uninstalling this app.

This is the first app that I download when I get a new phone. It is one of my most frequently used apps (right up there with "Messaging" and "Calendar"). Convenient and easy to use. I mostly dictate, but can easily switch to typewriter mode when needed. Punctuation buttons are always available. I use it for shopping lists, to-do lists, writing, jotting down thoughts, lesson planning, remembering quotes & links, drafting messages and posts, and simply decluttering my mind.

I am using the free app to transcribe recorded lectures. It will occasionally error out at the beginning of a recording but after that it is fine. There are times that it doesn't pick up every word or transcribe appropriately but these are medical lectures. It's hilarious that it "bleeps" out swear words. I'm hesitant to pay the subscription rate at this point only because I still have to relisten to each lecture and make grammatical corrections and fill in the blanks.

Best speech-to-text app I've ever tried, by far. Very accurate (despite my weird accent), and the voice commands & customizable keys are fantastic. The *only* things I would change would be for the app to automatically name each note by the the first few words of that note, to make them easier to find without the extra step of naming them, or for the app to present a full-screen visual list of notes by their first lines (preferably with the option of organizing notes by custom page colors).

I had been using this for a year. It's recognition has never been good and I wish there were a way to correct the mistakes it makes consistently (for example it always transcribes the adverb -ly as a separate word: Lee). But today the app suddenly started making strange beeping sounds so I tried updating it. Now the update version is much worse - instead of recognizing 30% of words correctly as before, now it is like 5%. I uninstalled it.

First, it requires third party software to work (google) and doesn't make it clear. 2nd, the menu is a mess. 3rd, it fails at the main job of speech recognition. It's slowness I can handle and even expect, but it's accuracy is so bad that it is pointless. Dropped words and even whole sentances, and what it does capture is often mistaken and seems to try to correct grammer in a horrible way. The point is that I can talk to get the main points down with minimal editing later, but it fails hard.

Used to be a good ap, but now it censors what I dictate, even when censorship is turned off in Google. F*** that! I'm switching to Google Keep. (All Speechnotes does is place an interface on the device's preinstalled speech engine. It does not add significant functionality to your device. It just manages how you interact with and perceive this existing functionality.)
