2024-11-16 | David Carlson | I love the idea and it had almost immediate positive impacts on my screentime. I also love the pricing model because it's set to a price almost everyone can afford and there's no annoying ads. The only problem is it's constantly trying to open google and I'll have to sometimes sit through the animation several times before it actually opens the app I want. Sometimes it will also try to open the google app when I close out of another app. If this was fixed it would easily be 5 stars
2024-10-13 | Carter Leatherman | I reinstalled because my partner has the iOS version and all the features there looked really cool. Was pretty disappointed with the android version in how limited the intervention customization is. On top of that, the intervention is inconsistent; fairly orlften it won't go through the full intervention animation and will just open the app.
2024-09-27 | Liz M. | I recently downloaded this app and was really excited for it's potential. I am just using the free version linked to 1 app to trial it but am noticing that it isn't working to block my app. It worked sometimes last night and I noticed it needed an update so I did that and it worked. But today, it worked the initial time I tried to launch the linked app but each time since it hasn't done anything when I launch that app or it looks like it tries and fails.
2024-08-24 | Patrick | Paid for the year subscription. So far has helped me a lot. Would give it 5 stars but when I use aggregate sites like reddit or news, which often redirect back and forth within the same iframe, it will make me have to pause again. So if I click on a link inside reddit that takes me to a picture and I spend more than a minute, and then get out, it will count as a reopen. Please use x-forward-for headers or something so it know it's the same site! Thanks
2024-07-07 | Evan Wardell | Helpful in concept, and in practice when it actually works, but it's incredibly buggy, especially after a recent update. On many apps, it continues triggering the pause screen at random for as long as you have it open, making it a very frustrating experience whenever you actually intend to use those apps. And if you open an app to a specific linked item (e.g. an Amazon listing or specific tweet), the pause screen usually causes the app to forget what you were trying to access afterwards.
2024-06-28 | A B | Honestly, the (almost) perfect app. It is easily the best way to cut back on screen time and doomscrolling! Only reason for the -1 star is because even when I'm already in the app, IG for example, I'll do something simple like edit a message to a friend, then One Sec will cut in with the "choice" screen even though i never exited the app. If they could fix that, then easy 5 of 5.
2024-06-14 | Erin O'Linger | In theory, is good, but two major complaints. 1. It won't work unless there's a little bubble on your screen at all times, that cannot be turned off, that was constantly getting in the way of doing anything. You can move it around, but was just always in the way. 2. No time limit for a trial, only limits one app. Not enough to see if it really helps when multiple apps are the issue. Not sure if it's worth the price because I couldn't get the full experience.
2024-06-04 | Ellie Urbancic | If the one sec app is open/running, I'm able to completely circumvent the breathing exercise by switching windows from one sec to the restricted app, even with intentional app-switching off (it only works correctly if one sec is closed). I love the idea, but it's frustrating that Apple users have so many more options than Android users and don't run into this problem.
2024-05-10 | Rina Anarchy | It only works *sometimes* and not very frequently. I feel like it should also have an "emergency" button that I can click to dismiss it if I *really* need to? Maybe you'd have to opt-in somewhere on the app to have that button appear? I don't know, I'm mostly disappointed it just doesn't work. I set it up correctly and it worked maybe twice.
2023-09-24 | Graham Smith | Doesn't work on S21. First I wasn't able to add it to the "never sleep" list, which seems to be a known Samsung problem across apps. Reinstalling fixed that, but now it's simply not intervening when I open my selected app. Edit: Still doesn't work in March. Edit 2: Works in September, though the guidance for Samsung mostly doesn't correspond to what the settings actually are. |
