2024-10-25 | Chuckles Buster | The app could not detect my volumio host on my regular network, period. If it's only capable of working on it's private network, it's completely unusable. (Which was my experience with volumio im general)
2024-09-27 | N | The UI acts like it was ported from the iOS design. Please utilize the android back button properly. It should not dump me to the home screen each time. Why would I want this? Android users are not used to clicking a back button at the top of the screen. Thank you
2024-09-26 | ReRy Ro | Can't move away from app to another app on phone without it losing connection to server. And when it does lose connection -- or when first trying to connect -- often have to reboot phone to get it to connect. Not even doing a "force stop" in phone settings will clear its freeze-up on connection. That's absurd -- no other app I use requires a phone restart.
2024-08-15 | Nick Brooker | I've come back to this after not using it for a while and volumio seems unreliable and inconsistent. Some plugins just don't seem to work or partially work. It seems to just not play quite often. I don't recall having these issues last time.
2024-04-17 | Joseph Spenner | Mine worked for a few years, then stopped working from the mobile device. But it worked fine with a web browser. Eventually I rebuilt my server with the latest image, and it worked again. I had to remove my Linux systems engineer brain though. Everything is "automatic". So, it actually becomes an AP. You need to configure your mobile device to use Volumio as the AP initially. You then tell it about your real AP. Once done, it will work and get an IP correctly.
2024-04-05 | Trey Carpenter (t3xh) | I'm just going to leave a review for the whole damn thing here ig. Copyright 2021...its 2024. Slow asf. Completely web-based (that's fine, but maybe state that somewhere) Premium required to do much of anything besides play local files. In this state it's no better than my Yamaha receiver. I might be OK paying for a premium img for a one time fee, but there's no way I'm subscribing and building my home integration around something that hasn't been updated in 3 years. I'm too mature for that.
2024-03-14 | Phillip B | Would be 5 stars easily, except: I've been using it for a few years now to stream lossless audio from tidal through a raspberry pie. Sometimes it works fine, but usually there's 1 of 2 issues and either one comes and goes depending on the latest update. These are: delayed or very poor volume control, and tracks will just randomly stop playing. Update: I realized was on the beta build and reverted, now my volume is working. But... it definitely was working on the beta recentl, until it wasn't.
2023-01-21 | Mátyás G. Kajtár (Matt) | When I move the player device to a new location, I have no chance to connect to it. I read somewhere that I have to turn on a setting that is not turned on by default, so I either have to re-flash the system or drive back 20km to reconnect to it... I'd at least put this option in front of the eye while the setup process is going.
2022-11-09 | David van den Bosch | Works quite well, more responsive and smooth than the web client, happy that I don't have to use it on mobile. Two small pain points are that it ask you to select a device everytime even if you use only one, secondly the volume buttons do not control the volume while in app. Nothing major, just small irritants. 9/10 will keep using.
2021-12-20 | Anders Østergaard | I just bought a subscription. The new UI looks good, but a few things could be better: Please make some kind of consistent navigation bar in the UI with links to each page. As it is now the navigtion is very confusing. Navigation options/icons change for each page (play, browse, que). Home icon goes to the browse screen and from there the back arrow goes to the play screen. Options menu and que only accessible from play etc. Also, can you map the android back "key" to the back arrow in the app? |
