2024-11-27 | A Canadian in London | Used to work okay but has been steadily going downhill. For months there have been massive delays showing activity / journeys on the app (don't show up until about a week later) so you can't use the app to check your balance. The top up functionality also stopped working (there was a cyber incident, but that really should have been fixed by now). I recently updated the app, assuming that would solve the problem, but instead it made it worse. Now it won't even recognise my oyster card. Useless. | |
2024-11-13 | Gonny | Hate this app always randomly logging you out for no reason. Doesn't even work properly. So Tfl asks me to rate it again, here it goes, it's still as rubbish as before! Update: now it doesn't even update properly, made a journey last week it doesn't appear on my app. Put funds in, no update on that either. Come on people sort it out! I have to shutdown and open the app 3 times for it to register my new balance. Every time I attempt to top up PAYG, it says "technical error". | |
2024-11-11 | M MNM | It there was half of a star that's what I would give. How many months now and customer's can't top up when they need to..... I will have to wait until I get to a tube station to top up,,,,,, So what is the point of this app then???? Typically London they make it look so nice on paper but when you're there it's a massive disappointment. Just get rid of the TFL app all together and bring in another alternative for the 9 to 5 customer's who really use the service. | |
2024-11-09 | Steve Griffiths | Unable to top up my card. The process reaches the "confirm in your banking app" stage, which I then confirm (in my Barclays app, which is up to date), and the tfl app shows a blank screen and the payment fails. This app has one job, and it can't even do that. | |
2024-11-07 | Richard Simpson | Well, TFL have managed to get even worse. I'm having the same issues as everyone regarding the app since the hack. But now, I can't get a full refund because the "system isn't working properly at the moment. Please call again in a week". All I did was tap in and out at the same station due all trains being cancelled. The time gap was 40 minutes and I was charged 2 x £9.80. All I've received is £3.60 auto refund. The rest? Well, TFL get to keep it until they decide to let me have my money back!!! | |
2024-11-05 | Ori Bryt | Extremly long registration process, with two authentication codes. Doesn't work outside the UK, I had to use a vpn. And after all that, the contactless website isn't working and identifying by oyster number fails on a technical issue. Rubbish. I wish there were competitor apps. | |
2024-11-05 | Dave Jackson | Logs you out every few days and if you forget your password you have to go through multiple factor authentication. Its just my oyster card not online banking. Also very slow to update, often requiring a force stop to show the correct balance so you can't rely on it to know your true balance. Horrible experience | |
2024-11-05 | Tsonko Bumbalov | It DOES NOT WORK. For over a week now I have been unable to buy a travel card or top up my balance. Every time it gives me error.It shoes on my bank app as "pending" and then disappears so the problem is not with my bank. Using this app has been a journey downhill from 1 star when it mostly working to now -5 stars. The best thing about this app is it develops your creativity to write more and more horrible reviews of it👏👏👏 | |
2024-11-02 | Finn Hermitage | Something is wrong. I used to be able to check my journey and payment history on my contactless but now I just get the spinning circle of doom on each of the screens :( I uninstalled and reinstalled and was unable to add my contactless, a message on the website says it's down due to cybersecurity. I hope it's fixed soon. |
