After at least 3 weeks of the app not loading, it's working again. I enjoy this app. It's intuitive and easy to use. The preferences are useful. One change from the last few months that I'm not fond of is how the subscriptions are sorted. They used to be based on when you added them, but now they change and I haven't quite figured out the new sort order. Maybe by when the last new podcast was released? It takes longer to find the one I'm looking for because it's in a different order each time.
Still having a major problem, at least with android phones. Users essentially cannot turn the app off. You have to use "force close" in (Android/ Samsung device) settings to reliably turn it off. Even with the app closed, audio will spontaneously play from where you paused (or where you thought you closed the app). There is a "pause" function, there is no "off". I'm sure this is intended as bookmark feature, but the lack of user controls on some devices is fatal.
Very well designed app, once you figure out the menus. Navigating around them is a bit confusing even with practice. The other glitch is that it does not do a great job of telling you what episodes you have finished. In many cases I finish one but it is not marked as such. I thought the app was good enough to purchase the ad free version. I removed a star since the app no longer finds and downloads URL feeds from paid subscriptions. Each week I have to reenter the URL. I switched apps.
