it is super interactive and has you repeat back what you are taught. at the end you repeat what you learned in a mini conversation. the lessons are super simple and breaks the words down. this app is super useful for first-time learners. I do hope more people use this great app.

Was really good at first! But terrible for actually learning. You are taught something once and then expected to memorize it. Unsure what voice detection they use, but any p/b sounds I make go undetected. Had to uninstall it because it didn't actually work. I'd say this is good if you just want to practice speaking and already know the words and everything and don't mind it not picking up vital sounds.

I'm not sure if I should keep using the app or stop. I feel like it's helping me learn really well, but I don't think the microphone feature always works correctly. If I don't say the phrase at the speed of light it turns off halfway through my speaking but if I say it at the speed of light obviously my pronunciation is off which is a fail. But even if my pronunciation is off making me repeat the phrase continuously without telling me which part I'm mispronuncing is unhelpful.

I've not tried the Japanese or Spanish options. The Korean is baller. The video presentation is unique and absolutely adds to the learning experience. I know other apps do more languages, but this one feels better already. 4 phrases in my pocket on day one is awesome, and while I knew one of them, realizing I'd misheard and was mispronouncing it for the last couple of years was more valuable than I realized.

***Edit***support replied and corrected the issue I was having. They are really active in updating the app and adding content. It's worth sticking with it as they work through any technical bugs. Original: I love the app, but I am running into some technical issues. In some lessons, the mic only catches half of what's said. I also can not unlock day 6 and am getting an error message. I would love to move forward if you can resolve this.

I enjoy the lessons very much. Keeps me engaged, and my son likes to help me while I learn, so we are both learning to speak the language. My critique of the app, though, is the mic registering what is said. Worked fine for about a month, then, about a week ago, the mic stopped registering my words, so it is putting what I say as English instead of Japanese. They had a "fix" update today, but it still has the same problem. My streak will be gone, which sucks, but I'm sure it'll be fixed soon.

This app is amazing. I've never had such an awesome, interactive app for language learning before. However, sometimes when they update the app, the voice recognition software only recongises English. It seems to be fixed after a few updates, but is frustrating.

Had it for months. An 82 day streak. Now my time was wasted cuz previous lessons decided to not pick up. I would say exactly what they wanted and it used to pick up. Now they wanna pick up an English word rather than the Korean or Japanese I've been saying. Already bad enough it could never register one syllable words. Deleted my account, uninstalled the app, im done. Don't waste your time like I did. Don't ever use this app

The lessons are structured very well and the video lessons are very informative. I enjoyed the practical speech lessons as well. I have completed all of the content but I plan to continuously review them until more lessons are released. Update: still 5 stars because the team has a passion for language learning. There was more content than I realized with interactive stories. The app does regularly suffer from mic bugs that impact the experience but they are invested in fixing them ASAP.

I've been using this app for about a year. It's gone through some serious development in that time that I am impressed with! When you report a problem, they actually fix it. They always add more lessons and stories, which I have really enjoyed! I use the free version, since I'm a poor college student, and it's perfect for me. They explain the meaning of each word in each expression, and the lessons are clear and easy to understand. There are some issues with their microphone system sometimes.
