A bit greedy with map limits. Only allowed 7 region downloads ever without paying, and you don't get those slots back if you delete a region you don't need anymore. Also if you delete and re-download the same region, or update a region, that counts as another download.. So realistically you'll run out very quickly if you want a usable experience offline, making it impossible for a longer road trip or travel to detailed areas like Japan with many "regions".

The best offline map you can hope to get, but the GPS either has to have no voice prompts or LITERALLY informs you of the new calculated route time every 15 seconds with no way to turn that off. GPS would be absolutely perfect if I could just turn every voice prompt off except where to turn. Edit: voice prompts fixed; my only other desire here is the ability to plot your own routes and have the voice prompts follow it. Bonus points if it can recalculate based on your chosen route.

The app itself is great. However, after I clicked on a special offer within the app to upgrade to the Pro annual subscription (a pop-up banner at the top of the screen), they continued to charge me for the monthly subscription as well—every month, for the entire year. I emailed customer support, and they told me there was nothing they could do and wouldn't issue a refund. Unethical...

Fair map app. No address look up, just destination road & cross streets. Choosing destination on the map, but it may not show. Showed 2 houses on a street where there are 12. Routing is ok, does not look at traffic, says trip is 25mi. in 28 min., hour is likely. Rereroutes when you turn off. Sticks to major roads but suggest to many U-turns when changing path. Places are out of date by up to 5 yrs & some all out wrong, never had that name. Audio is good, some nice options there too. But ...

I like everything about this app EXCEPT actually not being able to find/enter valid addresses!!! I enter an address....any common address...and 9 times out of 10, the app cannot find it! If there's a trick to the format for entering the address, then I can't figure it out. The same exact addresses....all of them I've tried.....work perfectly well in every other navigation app I use, including Sygic, Google Maps, Waze, etc My question is ..HOW does one enter an address or POI name to find for car navigation???.

This is probably one of the best mapping apps available. It relies on OpenStreetMap (open-source, community project), which already makes it great, and it provides good navigation and plenty of information. Only thing is that it's important not to rely on the app unless you know the map is good because some parts of the world are still partially unmapped and business info is limited.

I finally found out how to change the rendering engine to OpenGL, and it is so much better than when I last reviewed this, making this an unquestionable keeper now. (In short, I was disappointed coming from OsmAnd on iPhone.) If first time, I highly recommend going into OsmAnd settings and changing this. Although this isn't my app of choice for looking up addresses, offline maps and offline navigation do work excellently, esp. for urban/utility cycling. Also fun to explore around in sometimes.

I will say I like 99 percent of it, but there are some issues. For starters, the top of the map shows the name of the street you're on, but does not show the name of the street. Of your next turn. Which is annoying. Alsothere's no picture in picture if you. Get out of the map view and hit home and the only way to exit out of a trip seems to be going to your status bar and hitting stop. If you hit back, it does not exit the trip. I really wish all of these things were an option.

This is powerful app with lots of options that you can customize. Some aren't obvious what they do. So there is a steep learning curve. The maps are open source maps that are updated by users so some areas/addresses are lacking. They do improve daily but slowly. The app has profiles so you can have various options set for different vehicles or scenarios. After you get your profile(s) fine tuned and display adjusted to your personal preferences, it is a 4.5 app. Still few bugs/errors like others.

I've had more practice with this now and I do love the app. You have to keep an eye on the map itself as well as the direction since it does sometimes have you make several turns at a single light instead of going straight, which is avoidable if you're watching the map too. Definitely check ahead of time whether omsand knows the address you want, not as you're leaving. The last few days though it has stopped functioning. Hopefully it gets updated soon & the bug is addressed.
