2024-03-02 | A Google user | Update: Can you please fix a bug that's causing my "partner" to give points to the opponents when it's not necessary. It seems that just started recently. Thank you. I love the game. Older review: Been waiting for this game. I love it. The app is so easy and I like that it has 2 versions. Update: Its now 5/2021 and STILL love this card game. Please do one for Hearts. 😊 Maelrch 2, 2024 So... love this game but the the bug is still on going so I suppose there are no updates anymore.
2023-11-19 | Kasandra Barber | Used to play Rook with friends and family - this game version (with some of my own rules) is as close to how we played! Love it! I love that there is the option for adding your own twists and character names. Yes, sometimes the AI plays a "stupid" move (like playing a 14 (second highest point card) on the oponent's 1 (Highest point excluding the Rook/BlackBird) even when the next turn they play a non-point card in the same color). But I thoroughly enjoy the game 😁. FYI- I like playing offline.
2023-07-17 | Dennis Eiland | I've been looking for a card game called Rook that I played all through HS and college. This is exactly what I was looking for! It also let me set up my own "house rules" which rocks. Excellent game! Update: After playing for weeks the game would not start. I cleared app cache, but still no luck. The Android software gave a message saying the BB code had a bug and to contact the developer. The only way to continue was to clear app data and basically start over. I lost all modifications.
2023-05-31 | Chad Abney | Updates : After playing for a several weeks, I've found some logic issues w/ the computer play. It sometimes play 14's randomly on already "lost" plays in other suits. Have also seen it play points on losing stacks, while having other options. Also, my partner just bid 90 on a hand where I don't think he had a card over 10 and had fewer trumps than one of our opponents....not good. 🤨 Still better than most options, but dropping my rating, because logic just doesn't seem completely worked out.
2022-09-16 | Leroy én Bonnier | It feels like its set up to cheat. It's you, a partner that doesn't know what the rules are, and the opponents. It's obvious that the opponents know each others cards. It's like playing against an opponent that has half the deck to choose from. It became so frustrating. I love a good challenge, and I absolutely don't feel like I HAVE to win, but I want a chance to play fairly. Could have been great. Edit. The ai knows when you are out of Trumps, and what their "partner" has in their hand.
2022-05-02 | Alec Wooldridge | Awesome game for Rook. It is easily customizable to different versions depending on how you play. The only thing is I wish you could change the difficulty of the computers. Sometimes my computer partner makes incredibly bad bids. Also I've recently had some weird glitches recently too. For example I got dealt 2 Green 10s.
2022-04-02 | Matt Cooper | This is a great game all things considered, the option to customize the rules is wonderful. . Update 2: this android version does not keep track of games played, streaks or anything like the apple version does... and still no changes to allow shooting the moon etc. Now 1- star. I just learned that the apple version was different
2022-03-28 | SansVarnic “Sans” | Decent Rook Substitute. Partner AI needs a lot of tweeking, strategy is odd and sometimes not good. For example, it plays the rook out of turn like a new player would and after several games it doesn't improve or learn. Opposing team plays well though. Outside this, the game allows customizing the rules so I can play tournament rules instead of Kentucky Discard (bidder leads). One thing I would ask for is for 2-4 player or possibly online play with game invite. Playing AI is ok but gets old.
2022-01-08 | Glenn B | Lowered by one star because of no changes. I love playing this, but I wish a few things would be added: multiplayer (the Apple version has this), option to view one or more cards in nest while bidding, computer bidding aggressiveness setting, option to allow partner to call trumps when you win the bid for extra points tacked on to bid. If it had a few of these, I'd rate 5 stars. Nothing is changing with this game. Rating will go down as I'm asked to rate, but get no feedback on my suggestions.
2021-11-11 | Steve Drake | Love the actual card game, this electronic version, not so much. It's unfortunate, in a team setting, that your "partner" rarely plays the right card & the opposing team ALWAYS has complementary cards to each other, especially when they win the bid. It's like playing AGAINST 3 players where the opposing team knows what's in everyone's hand instead of a true random number generator that leaves every hand up to "chance." |
