2024-10-29 | Michael Durant | Good app, but there are some bugs I'd like to see fixed. For instance, a Tolkien nerd will know there's two versions of 'r', one for the middle of words and one for endings, and in the app, it automatically renders which form of 'r' is output based on whether you type something after it or not. This is ok, and accurate for the most part, but when you type a long vowel carrier after 'r' in the middle of a word, the app appears to understand that as ending that word. It then gives the ending form.
2024-04-11 | micro synthera | transcribes incorrectly in tengwar mode!! ignores long vowels and doesn't use halla for 'unvoiced' graphemes for two
2024-03-26 | Kaleb Crosby | Good for a quick translation into one of the available languages.
2024-02-05 | Sara Turner | Even though I can't find any app for learning how to speak the language, at least this teaches how to read and write n the language.
2023-07-12 | Paul Cooke | This is a delightful treat for any linguaphiles(those who love languages and derive pleasure from studying, speaking, reading, hearing, and writing them) who love the world that J.R.R. Tolkien created. The free version allows you to type anything and have it rewritten in either elven script or dwarven runes. Plus for the delightfully inexpensive one time only payment of around $5 you get access to the Black Tongue of Mordor and Sindarian(the writing of the people with the war elephants)
2023-05-29 | Ezra Maier | So far it's been a good experience. But. All of the features I really need are behind a paywall. I don't like being made to pay $6.00 for a crusty translator. But the interface is very user friendly, hence the 3 stars.
2023-02-22 | Mizuki himura | I don't know how much time it took to get the characters and everything but MY GOD THANK YOU DEVELOPER 😭♥️. You get 5 stars
2023-02-20 | ashley pogson | i love this app, it's so fun! i used it for inspiration for my linguistics project, I would recommend if your into cottage core and fairy core ect.
2022-12-25 | Reuben Korf | I've been using this app for about six months, and it's one of the best ways I've ever seen to learn the languages of Tolkien. I recommend this to anyone trying to learn these. It's easy to use, straight forward, and very informative!
2022-09-07 | William Bandy | I love the app but don't like the ads but understand the need for them to support the app designer. Makes it so awesome to be able to give my D&D players things written in Elvish & Dwarvish that if they can't read they have to go actually find an NPC to read for them.. |
