2024-10-14 | Albert Chua | App is constantly crashing on Samsung Galaxy Note 20 with Android 13. Even after clearing cache and reinstalling from Google Play. ---- Updated on 20241013. Issue is fixed.
2024-10-13 | Mark Emerson | Great app. Much prefer to pay for maps as I need them than to pay monthly when I use it somewhat sparingly.
2024-10-13 | Jon Pennycook | Track recording is reliable, and it shows useful statistics whilst I am walking or cycling. I usually use it with either the OpenStreetMap classic map or OpenCycleMap. I can upload my tracks to Strava and OpenStreetMap, and I can add notes to OSM. Good value for money. Adding geotagged notes (for use with editing OpenStreetMap) is more complicated than with Osmtracker. I tried Locus Maps 4 but it didn't meet my needs, so came back to 3 Classic
2024-10-13 | Sanja Vuksanović | After the latest update I can't open my purchased maps, live tracking doesn't work and app is crashing. :-(
2024-10-13 | Csongor Császár | Best GPS app for hiking and biking. Was definitely worth the purchase and I love that they still give you the option to use version 3.
2024-10-12 | Sufian | App suddenly starts crashing and wouldn't run. I had tried everything restarting tablet, uninstalling app n reinstalling it clearing cache memory everything I could. Even factory reset my tab n lost some important data :( But it wouldn't run.
2024-10-12 | -- | I don't know which update broke it, but automated backups have stopped working. Update - backups work after going through settings and re-granting access to storage. This was a system change a few versions of Android back. But it's downright foolish the app doesn't tell you what went wrong (or how to fix it) AND how it deleted all my old data back then.
2024-08-15 | Omer Javed | Finally, the improvements which we had been waiting for so long. Can you please incorporate Navigational Log for various checkpoints in a route; include heading, distance and time to next way point - this all to be displayed in the form of a table and the same should be continuously changing as we travel. Would really love ❤️ to see this !!!
2021-09-02 | Joshua Lockerby | In the outdoors, I prefer the likes of a Garmin. This is for certain hardware reasons - and not the app. Anyways, I still bring a smartphone (as a backup). I choose the pro version because I was tuned off by the subscription plan - in part because I make my own maps at home. It's map offerings are adequate for outdoor use. It is the best app I found for using MBTiles maps. I like have it can autoroute over my MBTiles maps as well (I am assuming an offline vector maps is needed for this as well). I find it important for a GNSS device to provide a compass bearing (azimuth) because its possible for me to venture into whiteout conditions. While this app can provide this, it is not very intuitive to set up. a Garmin does this easier. This can be improved, because I now of one other app that I have tried that does it easier as well. The way it renders Garmin IMG maps is ok, but its appearance is not the best for outdoor navigation - even if you use a custom .typ in the img file, it still appears the same. also, it displays contour lines in meters. If there is way to change that, I have not figured it out. I climb in the US and would prefer my elevation units to match that of SaR. Sill, overall, I give 4.5 stars. The compass bearing can be better. I did not take off for the mediocre Garmin compatibility because I understand it's really a proprietary format and it's still better then any other smartphone implementation.
2021-06-01 | Shane Hurley | Cheaper, faster loading map data and higher detail satellite maps for offline caching and the only mapping application found that didn't have a freakin' disoriented compass bug on Lollipop 5.1.1 compared to my 2nd choice app Backcountry Navigator Pro. Oh and customer service better too. Accuterra premium subscription Maps were worse than standard free satellite imagery so I don't recommend buying maps subscriptions for any of these type apps. I'm still lost! |
