2023-10-26 | Rogue Spanner (Tony) | Been using this app reliably for a year now and have not encountered any problems with it. Works well on my S21 ultra and Tab 6 with little interference/noise and receives well attached to a £35 amazon discone antenna. Although my RTL SDR dongle does need an inline narrowband filter for specific frequencies like CB and DVB reception.
2023-03-30 | Teddy Johnson | This app is so close to being something amazing. Unfortunately I'm having issues getting frequencies to save correctly. When recalling a saved frequency it tunes an incorrect frequency. App is also very buggy. Scrolling ghe bad will suddenly stop until you zoom out or move the tuning marker. A paid app should be polished and bug free.
2022-09-01 | Darren Fitzgerald | Been using this app on my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, works great with my SDR dongle. Steve Fury posted that you are unable to switch channels quickly, this is not the case. There is an JUMP button that allows you to manually enter the frequency you want to go to. Going to pick up a tablet as I would like to see this on a larger screen.
2022-07-19 | Steve Fury | There doesn't seem to be a way to directly enter frequencies. That means if you want to go from 5mhz to 300mhz you'd have to flip your finger some 900 times. Not very practical. I also didn't expect a 30 second functionality in demo mode before things get disabled. Is direct entry available out of demo mode? Not sure. 30 seconds is not enough. 2022-04-30 | M | Worked for 2 days, even to 1% battery power. Now it crashes, says my phone hasn't enough power, even at 100%. Cost $10 bucks, and after 48 hours, Google won't refund. Google Play said was compatible with my phone, and info prior to purchase did not say anything about problems that Signalware Ltd stated as having with cellphones lacking power to run their Software Defined radio. $10 bucks wasted! First-time Google Play purchase. Last-time too!
2022-02-17 | Tim Dobbins | Full featured, powerful app! I was surprised that this app actually had the Q Branch Direct Sampling setting to tune in HF frequencies using the RTL-SDR V3 dongle. I thought I would probably have to use Windows software for this. It works great with this dongle and my phone. Can't wait to try on the Samsung Galaxy Tab next.
2020-11-09 | Kevin Harrelson | Garbage user interface. Sometimes touching and dragging will more your frequency. Sometimes it will change your bandwidth. There is no way to know which action will be performed. Also, the frequency display is garbage too. It shows that I am somewhere around 10,000 MHz. Sorry, but my dongle can't actually receive into the 10 GHz band, no matter what the software says. It has the basic functionality there, but it needs a LOT of polishing of the user interface...
2020-10-05 | Sven Schumacher | Works as its supposed to. Menu could be improved. Sometimes it makes it hard to navigate. The same with the waterfall. Hard to adjust either freq or bandwidth. Maybe having a dedicated slider on the screen for bandwidth and frequency. Im sure you can over design the app. That being said. Best sdr software for mobile devices out there! Works flawless. Have only tested it on FM broadcast and VHF armature radio bands.
2020-06-22 | Eduardo Silva | It works, but dev wants to get paid for unpolished product. I think if the app had more work on the UI and user friendly interaction (like clicking in the MHz bar takes you to jump to Freq, for example) it would definitely be worth the money to get a working software even though you can use SDR# for free on a Windows based device, it has plugins and etc
2020-04-19 | A Google user | I had this application installed on my LG Android tablet for years, but I never fully learned it. In the beginning, I only used it with my Shark SDR-RTL as an FM radio, just for fun. After I rekindled my SW listening hobby, I decided to give it a try. I even bought the SpyVerter up converter. However, other things got in the way and I did not even test it. Now that I have a bit more of free time, I decided to explore SDR again.I tried several Windows SDR applications, each with its own pros and cons. After finding the best working settings for my SDR-RTL+SpyVerter setup, I decided to try again with SDR Touch. Boy! It was not only simpler than I though it would be. I tried it with the up converter, which was a breeze to setup and it worked very well. Looking around the configuration, I found the way to do direct sampling, which means that I do not need the up converter (less drain to the battery). Unfortunately, the upconverter does add a bit of gain as well as some needed filtering to my SDR-RTL dongle. I am still discovering this app, but I am very happy with it, so far. |
