2024-09-18 | MP3zilla | The only Disgaea game I played. Auto battle is the single greatest innovation for this series. I wouldn't mind some finer controls over "player" AI but if you only use it for grinding up levels, it's not unmanageable. The AI will absolutely nuke your other characters so either turn friendly fire off or don't mix units while grinding until you've mitigated it as much as possible. Using auto battle inside item world is suicide, especially in higher tier items.
2024-08-16 | Rocca Flocca | *Sigh* so disappointing. I saved up rewards points forever to get this. Fun graphics, great music... the game itself is decent. But you need to compare it to something else - and Final Fantasy Tactics is a good game for that. It's not as good as FFT, but it wouldn't need to be... if it cost less to buy on mobile. But this put me back $35 after tax for a game that's a fraction as good as a game that cost like $15. Maybe less. It's an ok game, just WAY too expensive.
2023-12-15 | Jay Roe | The game and story is 5 star however the way it saves your progress is dumb. What we need is our own save data so we can transfer progress from phone to phone. The way it stands now saves get lost. Unfortunate because it's a great game that can't really be played long term as it in many ways demands. Make saves easier. Ditch the save generator or let us rename save data. Other than that it would probably be the best tactics game on android.
2023-06-14 | T “Distraido” Labron | This is hands down my favorite game series of all time. Which is why i can't reccomend this version of Disgaea 1. Even though it may be the most feature complete version, the cloud saving system is terrible, requiring manual uploads from the splash screen (which is ridiculous) But there are countless visual bugs in my game that have somehow steadily gotten worse over time. Im mostly just disappointed that this is the "definitive" vers of the game and there seems to be a lack of care given to it
2022-10-27 | madjik1979 | This version of the classic is my fav to play, but there are some small issues. If you're just using your fingies to play this, it can take some time to accomplish things, and while this can be mitigated with a small bluetooth controller, I haven't found any way to reassign those controls. Otherwise this is an amazing port of a great game.
2022-08-18 | Dakota | Overall amazing, one gripe thus far. This is my first Disgaea game; I AFK looped the tutorial level as soon as I realized the level of grind the game has to offer; that filled my warehouse completely. In effort to make space, I'd take a bag full of items at a time and dump them onto senators. My game crashed during this tedium. Otherwise, as someone that's prior only played Fire Emblem to draw similarities from, this game is amazing and I'm happy with the money I've dropped overall.
2020-10-29 | Siq the Chiq | Google doesn't give enough characters to rate this game. I never played Disgaea 1; only the second one and I was in love. I poured over a thousand hours into one of my games. Disgaea 1 works great on the phone; the only downside to converting to mobile is that touch can be tricky especially since you have to double tap. Maybe suggest single tap? The story is amazing (of course it is!) and I love the fast forward button; it makes the grindy bits much less burdensome. Great job; worth the money!
2020-10-05 | Erik Rounds | I absolutely love this version of Disgaea! The graphics are updated and the auto-battle and battle speed settings are welcome additions. Being able to auto-play levels is a useful way to quickly grind early levels. My one complaint is input. The controls are absolutely awful. In order to select a character, you need to double tap on them, which is incredibly difficult on a small display screen. Scrolling and zooming in and out are awkward - even more so than in the original PS2 game. The option to have an on-screen controller would have fixed many of these problems. It does support PS3 controllers, but that's not ideal for cell phones. Control issues aside, I still think this is the best version of the game. Auto battle is a strong selling point in a game that requires constant grinding. Highly recommended.
2020-09-11 | John Smith | This is the best way to play Disgaea 1. Updated character models and all of the QOL improvements of Disgaea 5. Its a bit difficult to get used to on the phone but it only takes a few hours before you are just as fast as you were with the controller. There seems to be a minor problem with the audio on the Galaxy s7 but its not game breaking. Every once in a while after using certain skills it makes an obnoxious buzz. It only lasts about a half a second though. I'm still giving it 5 stars!
2020-08-26 | Daniel S (CatFish21sm) | Reminds me of the original! It brought back a lot of fond memories. The controls are a little wacky but once you get use to them they are OK. It adds some extra features like autobattle so you can skip all of the monotonous grinding. I like fights and challenges but my least favorite part of any rpg is grinding if I have to repeat the same level multiple times just to build up and move to the next then it gets boring for me. I like a challange not a grind. And this game will let you skip that! |
