2024-10-28 | K F | Excellent collection! BUT -- 1) Please put the authors' names in alphabetical order by their LAST name, not first name. 2) Make the authors' names clickable from inside the poem (for instance, in Poem of the Day, in case you want to see more of their work) 3) Cannot copy more than one line of the poem - why? 4) Word definition doesn't work; currently gives you Indian language translation only 5) Search field doesn't work, even when typing in the exact title / author name Thanks!
2024-09-18 | Matthew Teeters | I appreciate poetry offline, but I didn't find this helpful. A dry alphabetical list of poets and poems, so no orientation to the app. I don't mind unobtrusive ads, but banners throughout *and* a timed full screen ad after one poem really reduces the usefulness of the app. And given the lack of orientation and the fact that the poem was in the public domain is frustrating - it feels like a low effort fencing in of something that belongs in the commons without adding any utility or function.
2024-02-02 | Brad Stevenson | I used this app for years and loved it. I purchased the ad free version, but one day ads started showing up. The help team was very kind and generously offered me a code to get another version but I have no idea how to use it (I think it may be an apple thing they thought I was using.) Really great app, just a bit disappointed I could never properly fix it.
2024-01-08 | Conan Carroll | I've never before encountered an app with ads so intrusive that it's unusable. Premium is just 87 cents, and I was planning on buying it once I've explored the app a bit first, but exploring it is impossible when I get an unskippable ad every 10 seconds. Could be a fine app otherwise.
2023-12-25 | Ioli Giannoulaki | I've been using this app for years. I loved it at first because of the large number of poems available and the bookmark feature, and the ads weren't too intrusive. Fast forward to the present, and the app is completely unusable. It has deleted all of my bookmarks at least 3-4 times for no reason, and the ads are so so annoying. You simply can't go a few minutes of reading without unskippable ads popping up, and they’re the most hideous ads I've ever seen in my life. Will be uninstalling.
2023-12-09 | Jacob Rasmussen (Jake) | Pros - wide variety of poems. Cheap payment to get rid of ads. Good choice of authors. Cons - while the $0.99 payment is quite small, be aware that without this ads are so intrusive that the app is barely useable. Don't even bother with the free. Also a con, the app will only allow you to copy and paste one line at a time. I understand restrictions on copying things if material is copyrighted, but this app is entirely stuff in the public domain, there is no reason to restrict copying.
2023-03-16 | shivam bhanushali | I LOVE THIS, APP! I do have a suggestion though... Could you please make available the option to see the poets arranged according to the years? It's alphabetical, right now. Would it be possible to have the option of it being chronological? That'd be very helpful for any Literature student trying to place the author in the time period, and it becomes easier to remember.
2023-01-18 | H J | Bookmarks not well organised (would like them to be filterable by Poet rather than just a list of poems). Also, all my bookmarks are apparently by Adam Lindsey Gordon (they aren't), which is a glitch/fault. Other users' comments about bookmarks not carrying over to a new device would need fixing too. Ads aren't thaaat bad, and full version only £0.59 so....just pay it. Otherwise, it's great and intuitive. If you're into poetry, you'll save yourself a huge amount of googling time with this app.
2021-08-03 | Andrew Walker | G'day! I am Andrew from Melbourne. I've been using this ‘Poems’ app for last 5 years. It was a wonderful experience for me. I've noticed some poems never been in the list of poems found in other apps. Also there's no sign-in option, back-up option available in it. It's a great disappointment for me. Hope you'll look into the problem and try to solve it.
2020-12-06 | nikhil uttarwar | Stay with me. This is a beautiful application, basic features are pretty good and for such application, features should be basic too. So completely makes sense. What I don't like about this is it doesn't have a personal account feature. Change your phone and bookmarks are gone. Just that one feature and 5 STARS. I will even share it with my friends. But that feature is quintessential, man. Do something about it. |
