Update 2024: I still like the interface of this player, but when I'm using the app (even with the screen off) it will occasionally open a shady looking games webpage (zc-jk. com) that appears to be mostly unrelated to the ads in the player. The app also stutters and buffers with a poor Internet connection, even if podcasts are downloaded. I love this player. It has most of the podcasts I want, can download podcasts instead of only streaming, has light, dark, and black color themes.

Update: It's constantly asking me verify my premium status. Decided to export my podcast data in case I have to move on. Playback still skips on downloaded feeds. 2 stars guys. Previous review: Playback has become choppy and annoying. No response to an in app support request. Taking back two stars. What's up Player FM? Previous review: Love the ease of use! It keeps track of my history and has plenty of options to organize the podcasts. Came over from Stitcher and this player is even better!

I've used the free version of this app with ads despite paying for Amazon and Spotify for several years. I now have 2 mandatory pop-ups to bypass anytime I access the app in any way (even if it's running in the background). This is new and will eventually be a deal breaker. I'm fine with the ads but I'll never sign up for paid regardless of how many hoops I'm required to jump through. I will eventually get tired of the hassle and switch my subscriptions to one of the other apps.
