Have used an H10 chest monitor and Polar Beat for over 10 years, then it seemed to die. Would no longer pair with my android phone even with new battery. So I bought a new one and downloaded Polar flow. Polar flow connects but not Polar beat. I have deleted and reinstalled both apps several times and restarted the phone. Polar flow still connects but not Polar beat. Would like to get help, but can't find any. On the Polar site or in-app.

I wish there was a widget, otherwise the app is easy to use. I often use it in a double window (one app on top, another on the bottom) so I don't forget to stop the tracking at the end of my workout and everything gets super hard to see because the numbers don't resize. I still enjoy using the app, just wish it would integrate with Samsung Health.

The Polar Beat device falls short due to poor design and usability issues. The app's navigation is frustrating, lacking quick access to favorite activities. Connectivity is unreliable, often failing to detect the device or sync with Samsung Health, making activity tracking difficult. Despite its acitvity history, Polar Beat's lack of integration and fragmented data make it impractical for serious fitness tracking. Initially,I was excited about the device; now I think it's a waste of money.

The app is not built well. It will tell you a correct password is incorrect, then when trying the forgot password route it's not sending emails (yes checked all junk). There's no way to reach customer service quickly. You have to send an email and last time it took over a week to get a response. Would not recommend.

Huge pain to get connected to the heart rate monitor it is designed to be compatible with (Polar H10). I have to follow a long, convoluted processes about 35% of the time I use it. In addition, audio feedback for heart rate zones no longer works, which makes the app pretty useless for any heart rate training where you aren't constantly staring at your phone. It does actually seem to monitor heart rate accurately, but that's about it. Not worth getting the Polar heart rate monitor too use with.

Not reliable for measuring distance or training sessions. Sometimes it will measure the distance I walk, other time's it doesn't even record a session, even when I start it and stop it, and it says 'training stopped ' at the end. It's as if nothing at all happened, even though my other (Fitbit) device does measure and record. What's the problem here? If it won't reliably record my session there's no point in using it.

H9 chest monitor: if using the FT4 watch at the same time as the app, make sure to connect the app first, watch 2nd. Also, connect to the app before walking into the gym. Otherwise I get a "cannot connect because it may be connected to another device" error. To fix that error, turn off Bluetooth on your phone (Android/Galaxy S22 here), hard close out of the app, open up the app and let the app turn on Bluetooth again for you. It should work after 1-2 tries. If not, leave the gym and repeat.

Update 8/15/24 - Google is now blocking the app from connecting to Google Fit. Google Fit is my goto fitness tracker for receiving data from all my health tracking devices. The Polar Beat app is the only one being blocked. I downgraded Polar to 2 stars for being noncompliant with Fit. I use the Polar Beat app near daily with my Polar heart rate monitor to track hiking and biking exercise. The system provides valuable feedback on the intensity of my workouts.

Satisfied with features and results. Except: when resting during a ride the program times out however; a restart shows all stats from the prior start with the exception of the map. Final review at end of ride shows two starts and two maps. One on the way out and one on the return.

edit: as of 8/25/25 dropped to one star since beat can't connect to Google fit anymore on pixel 9. I'm assuming it's because it's not using health connect like flow. but flow sucks cause it can't sync HR. why no favorites? this is probably the most annoying part for this app, I wish there was a way to favorite/pin the workouts I do at the top so i don't have to keep searching for them everyday. this little annoyance adds up everyday!
