| 2022-10-02 |  | | An excellent replacement for the stock Android TV interface. Very clean and, mostly, easy to understand. Works amazingly on my Shield TV. Only reason for the 4 stars is that, I don't know how to get it to launch with the home button on my Chromecast with Google TV and there isn't a clear guide on how to get that to work. |
| 2022-07-11 |  | | SCL3 is great at letting me customize and simplify the TV interface. It's made AndroidTV my default tv OS. I have two suggestions that would put me on cloud 9: 1) a different way to reset the pin (today, it's basically just to stop kids, not completely lock down a profile). 2) A "now playing"-type widget so I can see which app is playing audio in the background when I come back to the launcher. |
| 2022-05-26 |  | | Sideload Channel Launcher 3 is more of a launcher development kit than just an app. It is infinitely flexible, from the UI to custom actions and a lot more. To get rid of the awful stock UI was enough in itself, but to replace it with something as cool as this is great. Even my wife approves. I did have occasion to contact the developer with a question while I was setting it up. He replied with an answer in about 3 minutes. |
| 2022-04-29 |  | | This is my favorite launcher app. I use it on both my Shield Pro and Chromecast w/ Google (Android) TV to eliminate their clunky and ad ridden stock launcher. There is a small learning curve to get things the way you like them. Overall the only feature I would ask for in a future update would be the option to shuffle the wallpapers I select. I have hundreds of wallpapers and it would be nice if they didn't all just play in the same order. Keep up the good work! |
| 2021-11-18 |  | | I own a Nvidia Shield and finally decided it was time to rid the home screen of unwanted, and sometimes, offensive ads. I tried several options until I found SCL3. I've disabled the Android Launcher and am now a happy camper. It's very easy to configure. I now have a clean, minimalistic home screen with a weather widget, custom rotating wallpaper and a few of my favorite apps. I would like to see a 'shuffle' option for wallpaper changes. I have several folders (seasons, holidays, etc...) As it is now, if I select all images in 'Christmas' and 'Autumn', it changes the images in order (all the Christmas, then all the 'Autumn'). I can't recommend this app enough. |
| 2021-09-28 |  | | This app is PERFECT for the Nvidia Shield! Takes a few minutes to learn how to operate the basics, but after you mess with it a bit it is AWESOME! Customer Service is on point too! Keep up the great work!!!! Side note, pair this with the Button Mapper app and you can rearrange, or add long presses and double presses on your Shield controller! Makes it do sooo much more, and you can turn off or remap or turn off that pesky N-fixxx button you always accidentally hit. |
| 2021-08-08 |  | | DXIdev does it again! I am very grateful to DXIdev for the development of the Sideload Channel Launcher apps. This app gives you control of how and what will be displayed on your TV home screen. Additionally, there are image and system features that are very useful. Fantastic! I have been with DXIdev from the beginning and have used the Top TV Launcher 1 and 2 series and the Sideload Channel Launcher 1, 2 and 3. The list of useful features is long and DXIdev continues to provide new display and system options with each newly developed app. Thanks DXIdev for the outstanding work on this app! SLC3 has a wallpaper auto cycle option and the app supports GIFs. It is has if DXIdev read my mind because this was my wish. :) The app is very easy to set up and can be customized to your wishes. The file manager is great. Website links can be added to a tile. The features go on and on. I wish to mention something of importance. DXIdev takes pride and responsibility in providing a well-rounded app that is secure, ad-free, and offers many, many useful features. This is the app to use if you wish to take back control of your TV display experience. DXIdev, I bow before you in respect and gratitude. Thank you. Thank you. Best wishes for your upcoming projects. | 2021-07-08 |  | | Get this App! This is a fantastic launcher. No more ads on my 2017 Shield. Completely customizable. Don't like an icon - change it, or set it to transparent. Delete a row, add a row. Change the clock widget, and add another. What ever you want to do, you can probably do it. EASY. Dev was helpful and offered a few suggestions when I did run into a problem. Ended up being COMPLETELY USER ERROR!!! Not the app at all! Very much 5-Star. |
| 2021-07-03 |  | | Very nice and helpful devs. I bought this app to stop seeing the forced ads the Nvidia Shield has to display on their homepage because of Google's new policy. Not cool Google. It has a launch at boot up option and a way to set a button to return to the launcher. The customization is nice and you can make it look clean. You can also have the background change every hour which is a nice touch. Haven't played with the reddit features yet. |
| 2021-07-01 |  | | I was never quite happy with the stock Nvidia Shield overlay (icons too big, couldn't fit on one row) and when Google pushed ads at the top of a $200 device, that was the final straw. This launcher is very customizable and you can get your home screen to look exactly how you'd like. The dev was super responsive for a question I had which is amazing. If you have a second Shield in your house like I do and you get an error when trying to install Sideload, it's a Play Store bug and you need to clear Play Store Data and Cache from Nvidia settings. |
