2024-02-26 | Jackson Brian and Pat | It's wonderful, gets used SO much. A Donate button or another paid version for those who feel a bit guilty about something so free and so good. Tip for those saying it won't play certain URLs or show station ids... Search/Check on a web browser. (Every so often a channel fails due to the station closing or changing it's streaming url. There are nice people out there who keep lists of radio urls. And some other players list them when playing stations)
2023-09-18 | Benjamin Kristensen | Exactly what I needed! Does what it says on the tin, connects to stream urls with no hassle from ads or anything. The only issue I've noticed, and while I would love for it to be improved I understand that it's a hobby project so it's fine if it doesn't, is that when I leave in my car from home it drops wifi connection and switches to data (expected) I find that the app struggles to reconnect to the stream and I have to close it and reopen it to reinitialize the stream.
2023-08-28 | PopPop Pop | Not good. Cannot add Radio Station Title to import file, just the url. So if you have 100 stations added, you have to Edit each station manually the title. The App buffers frequently , thus a bad music expirience. Will give a better star rating if title of station can be included with the url in the import file. Bigger buffer.
2023-04-11 | A Diamond | I'd give 10 stars if I could! I have been looking for an app like this for a long time, and I'm glad I finally found it. CustomRadioPlayer lets me play local stations that aren't in the major streaming apps, and it works great. Kudos to the developer! The last remaining challenge is how to find the media streaming URLs. If you open a webpage that plays the stream, and then doing a right-click "Inspect" on the player object, and then select the Network tab, you may be able to find the URLs.
2023-03-05 | Google User | Easy to add or delete individual streaming stations, import/export station lists, sort the lists, and adjust volume on the screen. Poweramp Equalizer recognizes the player, so Android users can equalize audio streams. This app is perfect. Wish there was some way to pay the developers for their work.
2022-02-16 | Mike Cohen | No ads. No in-app purchases. Works flawlessly. Plus you can import an export stream lists. Something the other free apps can't do. It says in the app that this was a personal project of the developer. But if he had a donation site I surely would give him something for it. Awesome job! Only one sad problem you don’t have a version (nor does anyone else) for iPhones.
2021-08-03 | Marina Maznikova | Amazing app! I have been using it for more than an year now and I had almost no issues. Simple interface, no adds, the basic functionality that I need. And the app even got a sleep timer! Just add a donation link to the menu, I would be happy to support the project. And if I could make a wish... support for different audio quality (low data usage) would be great!
2021-07-10 | Dave Rozich | Recently, I transitioned from WinPC to Chromebook. I missed my ancient Winamp that I used exclusively to play a large collection of bookmarked urls. I struggled to find a decent player for ChromeOS as I installed, then deleted many junk apps having to do with streaming audio. This app does the thing I need and it does it well. I entered all my old favorite urls, they're saved, they play! Thank You!!!!
2021-04-10 | Nikita Smirnov | A nice simple app which tries just to do what it should, though has some issues. On Android 11 I can't make the "continue playback after a call" option work - the app just stops and is unable to continue the playback even when I manually tap its notification's "play" button, complaining about some issue has happened, so I have to reopen it from a shortcut again. Earlier I had Android 10 on my Samsung phone and there was another issue: after I swipe away app's notification with music player buttons, it tried to continuously reappear again and again after a while, even when the playback is stopped long ago and the app itself is closed. This hopefully isn't happening on newer OS.
2021-03-08 | Alastair Norcross | Clean and lean. Easy and lightweight way to tune in to shoutcast/icecast based streams. Usually I use VLC for media playback, but this is better for streaming radio due to ease of use, bookmarked lists and minimal resources. VLC seems to have a crashing/cpu use issue if you stream a station for long peroids, this doesn't seem to suffer the same way. Big thumbs up to the dev, please keep up the good work. EDIT: was brilliant, now better. support for hls codecs, ui improvements, & more! |
