2024-12-15 | Troy Manning | Works sometimes. When you need it work, good luck getting multiple devices to play nice together. I have 4 Yamaha amps, but nearly impossible to make it work together, at least that's what I find. If it does happen to work it's great. If you don't use it every week that's impossible. Make it for dummies, with some advanced options for those who use it all the time.
2024-12-11 | Kerry Wheeler | Can't log in to connect id to link musiccast to alexa. I've made 2 accounts and can't use Alexa with my AV receiver any other way. There's no way to link it and control my inputs with Alexa so I'm returning this receiver and replacing with one that actually has working software. Yamaha is going downhill over the years. Really disappointed, but glad there's so many other and better options. βοΈ See ya never yamatrash.
2024-12-08 | Steve H | Update: It still lacks basic but important features after 10/24 update. Pro: Easy to use. Controls Yamaha device well. Supports album art. Con: No progress bar when track is playing and track length/remaining time not shown. Can skip tracks forward and back but cannot seek (RW/FF) within track. ReplayGain not supported.
2024-12-07 | GalTex Rentals | UpdWe originally left a one-star review back in 2021, it is now Decemb of 2024 and despite updates, this app remains one of the worst apps I've ever had on my cell phone. It is definitely the main reason we will never buy another Yamaha product again. We are currently wrestling with connecting to and staying connected to our Yamaha external Bluetooth speakers. When connected to our Yamaha AV it skips and glitches as if it's connected via a dial-up modem connection, despite being 5 ft away.
2024-10-31 | Chris Kelley | Keep up the good work! Great app! Suggestion to allow Spotify, Deezer, Etc to be able to display track, album and artist info on the Amplifier Display Itself instead of having to only look at it in Musiccast alone. (When contacting Yamaha, they say they are not the team that does this) Also, customers want Amazon Music & Qobuz on R-N602/803 (maybe even 303) Thanks. Also, add RDS( Radio Data System) to Tuner section via Firmware Update for U.S. units to display on their own - And display on app.
2024-09-29 | Craig Garrison Sr | I've used MusiCast for years, zone control is a must for our needs. But, it seems that every couple months for the past several years, the APP just refuses to function, won't find the stereo, can't login to Sirius... AV Controller has ALWAYS worked but is much less user friendly. Please fix this thing, I spent a lot of money on a high quality receiver and this is getting very tiring...
2024-09-26 | Hum'nBird | Will give 5 stars if you get better at choosing songs that you think I like do to my choice selection you don't know me, how bout quit pretending to know what songs I like actually play all ππΌ & remove ππΌ otherwise serious why even give the option? Makes no sense. Also it's not very user friendly & some parts confusing others hard to find/use or you just don't work at all. One more uninstall reinstall I'm done. Just food for thought.
2024-09-18 | John Zenger | This app is not stable. Hit and miss with syncing up remote wireless speakers. If you use your cell for another use, the app shuts down. 9.18.24. Never-ending issues with this app. Shuts down long before the 7 hour cut-off. I'm sorry I ever went with Yamaha. We are sending civilians in outer space, and I can't keep the receiver on.
2024-08-28 | Jerry Schwartz | I've been using the Yamaha app for years, but I was advised to switch to the Musicast app. I've been fiddling with it for several hours, and in the absence of any decent Help or other instructions it's been time-consuming and annoying. For example, I'm still not sure how to use or not use scenes. The buttons are there, but I can't find a way to label them. I think I've figured out that the settings you last used for a particular input "stick," but that certainly wasn't obvious.
2024-07-31 | Anon | I've reviewed positively before but I want to increase my rating based on the July 25 changes. I often link 4 MusicCast devices in 3 rooms in my small home for music throughout. The new ability to adjust volume in one decibel increments for each device allows for easy precision in volume compared to the "slider." Also, I found that while using the A/V receiver for TV, I had to use the physical remote for volume fine tuning. Now, the app is sufficient. Thank you, Yamaha technicians. |
