2024-11-27 | James Grimshaw | Used to be a great app. IBM messed it up and it just keeps getting worse. Specifically their aggressive ads that grind the app to a halt until they have loaded. Then while you're trying to look at content the ads hijack your screen. When you scroll back to the actual content you start from the beginning rather than where you left off. As you try to scroll back through the info you get hijacked again. Lather, rinse, repeat - over and over again. Thanks, IBM. Guess I will find a new weather app.
2024-11-24 | Cher G | As of 11/21/24: this app won't open at all! 11/24: I uninstalled & reinstalled.. Shows NO data.. it sits there forever so I set my phone down. Go back 10 mins later & finally shows temp but won't let me look up another city's weather!! Sent W.U. email👎🏼 7/25/23: the temperatures are way off at times. Just looked to see the temp @ 12am (81) & it said today was 82° it was at least 106°! *Original review: For most part this is a great app. I use it almost daily & find it pretty accurate.
2024-11-23 | Dennis Trabant | I especially like that WU incorporates, enhances, and corrects data from the weather sensor (a Tempest) in our yard. The Tempest data are unimpeachable in all but precipitation. The Tempest's hapatic precipitation sensor always under reports falling mists, light rain, and snow. WU corrects the precipitation report. A single complaint is that "high noon" is at the bottom of the light-dark circle. Counter-intuitive, that is. I'd like a moon-phase history and forecast "precipitation radar".
2024-11-22 | Marcus Lehr | Love the graph and easy access to hourly estimates even a few days out. The app is slow to load which is annoying. Another thing which would be really great would be forecast maps like Windy. Or just links to relevant regional forecast videos. The latter of which are surprisingly annoying to find, so that would be really nice
2024-11-21 | Justin Chan | UPDATE: Still one of my favorite weather apps, and the bugs I detailed below seem to be fixed, so I'm bumping up my rating. || One of my favorite weather apps -- I love the graphical presentation of the weather and precipitation in the DAILY FORECAST on the home screen -- but it's gotten buggy recently. The notification design is broken looking and it no longer launches the app, which makes the app much less useful.
2024-11-17 | Travis Terrell | SOOOOO SLOWWWW!! The loading time has always been ridiculous, but lately it's just horrible. >10 seconds on a latest-gen flagship phone connected to very fast Internet.) Clearly an application issue. Which....it never picks my own weather station as "closest." Radar animations are very short. 40% is taken up by ads. It's baffling IBM ruined Wunderground so badly. We desperately need more choices for hyper-local weather.
2024-11-14 | Nate S | I used to really like Weather Underground, but now when I try to look at the week's forecast, the app keeps scrolling the screen down onto their ad so I can't see what I'm trying to see. When I move it back up and try to scroll along to see further, it drops back onto the ad again. Very irritating. This has only started happening in the last month. Not sure how much longer I'll keep using WU.
2024-11-14 | Tom West | 12/28/19 The 'new' version is more complicated and requires more taps & swipes to obtain nearly the same info as previous version. This update was unnescessary and disappointing. Update 3/2... STILL don't like the new hourly graphing style :-( I got a message to upgrade from app store to 'fix' graphing problems, but app store 'knows' the version I have and won't show any upgrades. 11/12/24... If the ap is updating, it is being done without interaction by me. I wish the graphic showed history...
2024-11-13 | Carol Schweinfurth | A friend turned me on to this app. I check all my friends locations to see what's going on where they live. I love the graphs and how they have a bit more than won't mention the name does. In depth! Update: This app is amazing. I used it on our road trip to Colorado. Helped us avoid some bad weather on the road. Live in New Orleans and have a love/hate relationship with the accuracy of HUMIDITY.
2024-11-12 | Yoda The Bard | So accurate and easy to use. This is one of the best apps(not just weather apps) I've ever used. I've now had this app (the subscription version at that) since 2017. Every new phone gets it immediately. It is accurate, easy to understand, customization options exist for activities, allergies and travel. This is once of my few digital essentials. I highly recommend |
