2024-09-26 | Pr0phet (Pr0phet of Fear) | The app gets worse and worse with every update. Forcing a full-screen pop-up ad as soon as the app opens is very bad practice, considering people can be checking the app urgently during severe weather. Stopped saving the settings for the radar map. I don't want to have to turn on the various overlays every time I want to look at the radar. Seriously, revert this app to the version that was available like 5+ years ago. It was so much better.
2024-08-17 | Ed Feldpausch | Newest update makes it crash. App is unusable. I un-installed and re-installed. Makes no difference. App keeps crashing. It is now the middle of August and again did everything as described above. The app crashes everytime I try to use it. Radar is nearly inoperable. Still a 1 🌟.
2024-08-01 | William Olson | Used to love woodtv weather app. Been gone from Michigan since 2011 and have always used it But now the app does not show me the radar from saved locations. And tne new radar stinks. I can not pick and save overlays. Must choose every time I go to the app Can't delete favorite locations either Can't delete locations I no longer need. I have to load the overlays everytime I use the app. Location will change for no reason from last login. NEXSTAR has ruined what was the weather app of choice
2024-07-12 | Debbie Schwind | I really wanted to like the updated app but the simple fact that it doesn't have a follow me location option is a deal breaker. I have the app set for location on all the time and after being home in Wayland for over 2 hours it still thinks I am in Battle Creek and I can't get it to update. Sticking with Fox 17 weather app that works flawlessly.
2024-06-20 | Patrick Steele | I'm sorry, but this app is horrible. The old app, we could select the screen in which the app would open. I don't want to have to select the radar after it's opened. I used to open the app directly to the radar screen. Radar motion stops the moment I try to widen the radar map, the old never stopped. The drag screen is annoying, if I try to move the map, and I'm too close to the "drag" screen, it opens up. If I wanted to see a blog, or anything else I would have selected it.
2024-03-27 | Jack Hoffman | New version is garbage!!! Used to work just fine when adding locations and pulling weather data for those locations. Now everything is just a front for the mobile web page. Very slow and unresponsive, takes 20 seconds just to load the app. Update: 18 months later and newest refresh is better looking and functioning but it is SO SLOW. Using a S24 Ultra, and the app sits at the splash screen for 10-15sec before loading a basic WebUI. No excuse for this. Pls do better!
2024-02-27 | Matt Ryan | The new app is a train wreck. Shame on whoever had the idea to change it. The persistent temperature notification disappeared, so I installed AccuWeather to get it back. I do enjoy Bill's Blog, now I can't even read it. It stutters, the closest the app. The interface for the other pages is very hard to navigate. The radar was way better on the old version, too. Reinstalled several times, no help. Sometimes new isn't better.
2024-02-21 | Ray G | Was a 5 star until the update of January 2024. Loads very slow. Saved locations are put in a random order, not the order I added them in. I used this app to check on weather in cities I'm traveling through on regular road trips. Also only the high temperature are shown. If the forecast calls for rain it'd be nice to know if it's going to get to freezing. Really sorry I updated this app. I switched to Weather Bug. Works much better!
2024-02-09 | Tracy Hengesbach | I hate the new updates! The dark background is awful and I started getting alerts for places that I'm not even near at the moment. When I went in to find settings, I discovered that you can no longer choose which alerts you want, and that getting all alerts for all the places you've searched is on by default. I don't need to know about lightning near Grand Rapids when I'm in Lansing! I'm off to find a weather app that can be customized--like this one used to be.
2024-02-03 | Shawnee Damm-Hajdu | Appalling update! The navigation is much less streamlined. The radar is visually unappealing and difficult to follow; overlays are limited and confusing in their criteria, don't allow for past tracking, not to mention seem less varied. Also, THE GARBAGE ADS STREWN THROUGH EVERY SECTION! I spent the first five days scrolling past lady buns to see the weather! It's ridiculous. And no matter how many times I've set this app to send weather alerts to my phone, I've not received a single one. |
