2024-11-16 | Deb Carr | Nov 2024 - I have not installed my paid app in several months, and now it barely stays open. It keeps closing every time I go to the map. I'm using either Android 13 or 14, with several (possible fake) security updates that messed up several other things. This is the paid app so I would like to know what is going on please? It will not show a cell location, and every time I open MAP, it closes 5 out of 6 times. I want to upgrade to the pro version, but not until it shows me a cell tower and MAP.
2024-09-24 | Barry S | I've noticed I no longer get any cell tower information. I understand from the app the information is collected from an external database, but I'm not seeing any. I'm on Verizon. Also, in the app store I see an almost identical app "Network Cell Info Lite" that seems to be the same version, but has more downloads and different screens. Why? Confused
2024-09-01 | Patrick Boyle | Google popped up a notice today that shows the app has started sharing my location with advertisers. I would prefer that were not the case. Otherwise, the functionality is awesome. Google Play shows: "Data shared and for what purpose. Approximate location: App functionality, Analytics, Advertising or marketing, Fraud prevention, security, and compliance Precise location: App functionality".
2024-04-30 | Soar - | Really liked this app until the last update. Now it is aggressively attempting to reach many different external IP addresses without a clear explanation of why. It does this even when the app is not supposed to be running, which is unacceptable. Also, the signal strength for the data connection is now non-functional. I would have given this app 5 stars before, but now can only give it a generous 2 stars. Hopefully the devs can quickly resolve these issues.
2023-10-14 | Eric Moyer | It helps me find cell towers and know what performance to expect from a location. It is good at what it's supposed to do. However, you have to specifically configure it to not be annoying. It has useless notifications and (unless you turn it off) nags you for background permission. I don't want this chewing up my battery when I'm not looking for a tower. And it nags you to rate it. So it's a good app, but it should be not annoying by default.
2022-11-14 | Douglas Cooper | Galaxy S9 with Android and the app is great, just a few quirks. The map does not always show the towers and are sometimes way off if it does. However, the public database for tower locations is not exact either, so there is only so much that can be done for accuracy. Some times the guages do not show anything, but restarting the app seems to correct it. I don't use the WiFi features, so I have no input for it. The app was recommended to me by a field tech from a major cellular provider.
2022-10-19 | Mark Halsan | Incompatible with Galaxy Tab A. Looks like a great app! App will start once after installation, and crashes on startup every time afterwards. Uninstall/reinstall, then it will run once and continue to crash thereafter. Neat idea, great interface, awesome design, but not much use in its current shape. I hope this gets fixed, I will update the review.
2022-09-22 | G Maddox | Just a Confusing mess. Im looking at the cell information map but getting no useful information. The app is collecting cell data all day but doesn't even show which tower I'm even connected too. Only thing I found useful was the signal level meter but even that isn't showing me my 5G connections only LTE info. Then an pop up, you cannot close blocks the bottom third of the screen trying to get me to click on an cell news article I'm sure leads to an ad.
2022-08-05 | Ron Coyne | In so far as all the network analyzers on the Google Pay store goes, this one delivers the most bang for the buck, so to speak. Analyzer, speed tester, cell locator, plus a bunch of other technical data I can't decipher (yet), but this app delivers all you'll ever need (and probably more) to know about network analysis. For me, the features alone, despite the misgivings of some as to whether they work as advertised, is worth the bump to the pro version. Recommended.
2022-08-03 | El Jay | Finding towers when boondocking with a booster is sometimes a huge pain. Before this app, it was largely guesswork. The map feature made this totally worth the $2. The Lite version was done well, and had the features I want (and the ads were presented with some class). But I definitely support the developers on this one. Can I reorder the top menu? Maybe add an MRU sort setting. Or a setting for menu to be at the bottom? Not a fan of horizontal scrolling so far from my thumb. Great work! |
