2024-07-21 | Razle Frazle1999 | Worthless corporate money grab of an app. It's useless. I'd give zero stars if I could. Y'all have horrible Internet service too. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone who has other options.
2023-12-06 | Cynthia Avery | Worked fine for what I needed, and that was to see devices connected. Then I updated, and now it says, "Viewing connected devices in the Shield app is not currently supported on your modem." So the app is essentially worthless.
2023-11-02 | Gene Rutherford | It tells me that there are companies stealing my data but won't let me block them. Viasat wants to charge me $8/month for "Premium" if I want to be able to block them from stealing my data. And who gave them my password so they can even get into my account? Viasat is a scam. They charge too much for too little, then want to charge more to keep others from stealing the data you paid too much for.
2023-08-25 | Richard Arndt | The app doesn't even function correctly with the modem that I'm renting from ViaSat I wouldn't even waste my time. All it says is that I had an attack or two on my service and that's it no information about it. No ability to troubleshoot what device was being attacked or anything.
2023-06-16 | jackie alexander | worked to show connected devices on my pc the first time i tried it. I cannot get it to work again. No way to start it that I can find. I am going to try to find a network app that will actually work. Fun fact - i got a letter saying i had use all my bytes. I could not tell the difference in speed. HAHAHAHAHAHA, how frigging sad. God I need decent internet.
2023-03-13 | Adam Akers | Paid for the upgrade. I'm already spending an average of $500 a month for dial-up quality internet, and thought what's another $9. This app won't open. Just says logging in and fails every time.
2023-01-23 | xxNinjaxxAssassinxx | The app is not working. I have a galaxy s22. Installed it and won't let me get past the second prompt. Screen turns white and cannot progress or use the app. I uninstalled and reinstalled and had the exact same issue.
2023-01-02 | Cathy Roosa | The app has shown literally no devices online and at least 10 of us have been online the last 4 days! Totally a waste of $8.99/month to use this app. Canceling this week and I've given it 9 months to work! Viasat please don't bother reaching out to PM you ... I've called & your customer service folks read from a script, at home with no knowledge base nor fix nor are aware it doesn't work!
2022-08-21 | Susanna Gross | This app is somewhat useful, you can see where your data goes, sorta. But the percentages are wrong. I updated the OS on my iTouch, and our total use went up by several GB. I look at Viasat Shield, and it says the iTouch used 0.14GB, the whole week. Wrong! Same thing with a 6.3GB game I downloaded, which increased the total by 12GB. But the data use associated with the machine on which I installed the game is inconsistent. Maybe bugs? Maybe they decided to not count OS updates?
2022-06-16 | Gary Brown | Inept app. You can see devices connected, with some that fortunately self identify themselves. Otherwise you have multiple unnamed devices connected or offline that the listed MAC'S cannot be found. Not to mention it shows duplicate devices, one showing online and the other offline simultaneously. Still haven't found the option to block or pause a connected device from thjs app. So while this app is promoted as one thing, it is more or less something else. Lacking is an understatement. |
