2024-10-08 | Marcus Johnson | Can't even add a device through the app, have to login and add via the web browser. 10/9/24 - 5 years later and this app is still trash. Open the app on a pixel 8 pro and it stays on the splash screen long enough for me to get up and turn off all the lights in the house manually before the app even loads its home screen. | |
2024-04-30 | Laura Lillie | Believe it or not, our old, old Vera Lite controlled with the old UI5 interface finally stopped working. Bought a Ezlo Plus to replace it. Trying to use the Vera app to get all the scenes set up again. Problem is that when attempting to create a trigger for a particular date. The date displayed at first is correct, but when you click to change it the next month is displayed. You have to select a month ahead to get it right when you save. Any solution to this? | |
2023-12-11 | Dan F | Bought the latest controller, ezlo, after wink started to suck. Same experience I had years back. You wait for your devices to appear in the dashboard sometimes minutes. Good luck trying to get a hold of support. Update 6/5 Tried support as suggested. Called and left a message, no return call over a week later Will find a different system. What a joke. Almost a year now since they updated the app. No excuse for that | |

Infrequently, the service fails to fire, in my case leaving my pool pump on for hours, wasting electricity. I've partially compensated for this by scheduling backup "Turn it off, really!" scenes after the main one, which helps, but even that occasionally is not enough. Looking for another vendor. Would not recommend. | |
2022-06-16 | John K | Guess Im forced to use the browser to access the xontoller. App won't load. App does what it wants. This is dumb. I'm looking for another smart home solution immediately. Geofence\zones operation is spotty at best. Can't create a separate user. Slow as hell to respond to Alexa integration and z wave light control. Says the lights aren't connected, then turns the light off.....?.It's getting dumber and dumber. | |
2022-04-16 | Ken Miller | App doesn't work. Can't see which Pin codes are being used. Support takes days to respond. I was left on hold for over 30 minutes. Terrible experience. I wish other apps existed to control my lock. This is the worst ever. UPDATE: All alerts stopped working. Support won't respond to emails. Would not recommend until they get their act together. | |
2021-08-02 | Jason Soltero | 8-2-21 I can no longer connect to my hub with the app. Only through the web portal. Reboot and reset have no effect. Frustrating! Original review in early 2020. So happy that I can now control all of my Schlage door locks after the last firmware update. I love my Vera controller and happy with the app version. The desktop login is still the only place for advanced options, but the app is perfect for day to day use. | |
2021-03-20 | Allen Casteel | Worst app ever! When I turn on a light or change the temperature I get a spinning wheel forever. The app completely freezes - no response. Just realized that there are literally dozens of apps that will connect to and control my Vera Plus seamlessly. And they look better. Time to move on. UPDATE: still not working after update. When I adjust the thermostat, it says "Success" but the little spinning wheel never stops - completely unresponsive. | |
2020-12-19 | Dave M | Z-wave devices are really varied, and the home experience depends on lots of different products interworking well with Vera. A key to how usable/workable the solution is, can be the support. The app is quite functional - but Vera support is always very responsive and helpful, even if the issue is related to a device. That really makes it usable as a key part of the home. | |
2020-10-14 | Wayne Colony | It is generally reliable and responds quickly but it has issues on a number for fronts. - It loses login credentials at random and then acts like you have a brand new install. - It repeatedly warns you that you have no internet connection when you have one. (often happens when switching wifi APs or switching to mobile data.) - The interface wastes valuable screen space on dead space or items that are rarely used. (especially noticeable when rotated to landscape) |
