2024-12-06 | James Sadler | You DON'T NEED this app to switch your phone to greyscale. It's an option in the accessibility menu under settings (in my android it is, anyway), which should already be there. This app asks for root permissions to get into your phone and I feel like that's pretty invasive. I would prefer not to grant those.
2024-10-30 | Rebecca Lawrence | Been looking for a way to do this for a while and this makes it easy! It's a little annoying that you have to use the computer to set it up but its not the devs fault and they made an extremely clear how to guide on setting it up. It took me less than 5 minutes and that was only that long because I had to look up how to turn off apps that were drawing over other apps. (You might also want to add that info to guide devs) After it's set up it's just a click between grey and color.
2024-09-06 | gil aharoni | I would very much like the option to make specific apps gray rather then have to exclude ones. This is not only a hussle to exclude many apps, it's even wors then that since, for example, Android auto makes the car screen gray and there is no option to stop it (other then to stop the app all together). Morover, I would really like an option disable for a specific amount of time, and to allow redshift even when gray (though I guess its impossible)
2024-06-29 | Steven Young | I wish there was a feature to turn the grayscale mode back on automatically. Sometimes I need color for something and turn grayscale off, and then forget to turn it back on. I wish this app would either give me a button to temporarily pause grayscale for X minutes instead of just on/off, or automatically turn on if it's currently off every X minutes. I know there's scheduling and exclusions, but there isn't as many options as I'd like to get the above effect that forces me back into grayscale.
2024-05-14 | A (A) | Really easy to follow instructions, got this thing permanently set up through developer mode in just a couple minutes. (This is impressive for several reasons. The big one is that I'm NOT tech savvy. AT ALL. And horrible at following text instructions. This just... Worked for me... Easy!) I'll change my review to 1 star if this thing hacks my phone. But hey. It's grey now!
2024-04-29 | Radosław Waśko | Very useful application. I would like to be able to automatically re-enable grayscale mode after I have temporarily disabled it to check some colorful content - as I tend to forget to re-enable it afterwards. For now, I figured out a workaround - I set to automatically enable grayscale mode once battery level drops below 99%. This way, I have a guarantee that it is automatically re-enabled after each charge-cycle, so even if I forget to re-enable it, it gets re-enabled periodically.
2024-04-02 | FigBeirns | Works well but could do more. Set up is quite challenging, the instructions also need updating since it seems things have moved since they were written. I was hoping to have more scheduling options than just one. Like week day/ weekend variations and scheduling breaks when I can have colour. But I would recommend.
2023-09-08 | Isaac Maffeis | You have to follow all the configuration commands, but once configured It's the best app for this purpose, It's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing you could add is an option to deactivate with the lock screen, in fact phones with the fingerprint sensor under the screen may not work correctly with black and white lighting (like mine).
2023-06-30 | Varenya Mishra | Great app. Good concept. But tbh, there is just a waaay easier way to achieve the same thing, with more flexibility. Just go to Modes and routines, it's a inbuilt app which essentially let's you code your android to do specific things. For greyscale, just go to routines, add a new routine, set if to be manual(or you can add many conditions like time period, connectivity, usage rate, heck, even opening a specific app) and the then to be greyscale on.
2023-03-29 | Ryan Schwab | Perfect. Once it's set up, you can swipe down and touch grayscale to toggle between grayscale and color. No fuss, it just works, exactly how you'd hope. Great tool for lowering the draw to your phone as a distraction, while being able to quickly switch back to color when you want to take pictures, watch shows, whatever. It can be a little hard to set up, but the instructions are spot on, ask a nerdfriend to help if needed. |
