User reviews
Autosync for Google Drive is a highly customizable and reliable app for syncing files between Android devices and Google Drive. Users appreciate its ease of setup, flexibility, and one-time purchase pricing. However, several users report persistent battery optimization warnings impacting background sync, occasional sync errors that may cause data loss, and delays or glitches in syncing updates from Google Drive. The free version has an upload size limit, encouraging upgrades. Overall, users find it essential for automatic backups and syncing tasks despite some technical issues.
Pros
- Highly customizable sync options allowing selection of specific folders and sync directions (upload only, two-way sync).
- Reliable background syncing with automatic operation after initial setup.
- User-friendly interface with clear documentation and easy setup process.
- Allows syncing Google Drive with Android devices, filling functionality gaps in official Google Drive offerings.
- Reasonable pricing with a one-time fee, no subscription model, and free version with useful features.
Cons
- Persistent battery optimization warnings despite users disabling battery saver and granting permissions.
- Issues with file sync errors causing data loss or failed uploads (e.g., file size mismatch errors).
- Sync speed can be slow with delays in reflecting changes from Google Drive.
- Upload size limit (e.g., 10 MB in free version) restricts syncing large files without upgrade.
- Occasional syncing glitches: outdated folder recognition, inability to properly update sync history, and issues related to IPv6 support.

Fantastic app! Works perfectly every time. both free and paid versions are worth it. very clear UI and lots of customization options. I even like the documentation, but would recommend that there be more beginner friendly options for file and folder inclusion/exclusion while syncing, because the current method relies on extension matching regex, with like comma separated values which can easily introduce errors.

This used to be a great app. Judging by the lack or response, this seems like an abandoned project. Issues w/ Automatically syncing (even w/ Tasker) and Android ALWAYS wants to re-enable Battery Optimization, despite my best efforts. This might have something to do t w/ the confusing name change (AutoSync or DriveSync?) No issues whatsoever w/ Dropsync!!
