Been using the app daily for close to a decade now. At least since 2016. User experience has gone down the pipes. First you couldn't view content without creating an account. Now I can't access the app without paying for the news. Which is strange, because it's still free if you search the article on any browser.... just not the app. Use to love reuters.

News content is good, but the display is not. Graphs are cropped left and right to fit the text column, whether portrait or landscape, so you can't read the axes. Clicking on them doesn't do anything, so no full view there. The headlines are very large and shouty compared with normal text, and there are no controls for this in settings. In fact the preferences section has only 3 controls: light/dark, hide images or autoplay video. Search is appalling and has been for years. And now pay only?

New UI isn't all that bad - I do hope some quality-of-life changes occur but it's fine as-is. 29/10/24 - I am getting prompted for a subscription (USA). It's only $4/month plus tax but, as outlined in many an article on here, I am not going to be able to do that at this time. Leaving it at 5 stars of course - still better here than Fox or CNN.
