2024-09-01 | Peter Gilbert | First an important tip for those using a light in their bedroom, set the power switch settings to off. I've been woken up from power being restored at night & being woken to a bright light! The bulb works well with the app, Bixby, & Google Assistant, & this app. It is neat if you want to play with the color settings, but as far as just normal usage, I prefer just flipping a switch vs. having to mess around with my phone.
2024-06-17 | Erich Schmidt | I've had this app for years in multiple homes I've lived in, it's awful. Every single day I have go through the process of reconnecting the lights because they just suddenly dont work. I go through all steps, ensure they're on a 2.4 connection, but every single day it does this. I wake up in the morning spending 5-10 minutes reconnecting every light, and come home late from work not able to turn on my lights because "oh you need to check your wifi". It's 2024, we can't figure out wifi connection
2024-05-30 | tv watcher | Love it. Simple to use. Never had a pairing issue of any sort or dropouts. I have a mesh router system so maybe people have problems due to their router. There is a problem with their widgets and wifi connectivity but the app itself works great. And no ads or fees. Stay away from Wiz Connected. It is a renamed V2 and total garbage. Read the reviews. Don't buy Wiz if you haven't already. The new app is garbage since inception and you will regret it. Buyer beware.
2024-05-13 | Steve Doherty | Complete horror show to set up. I used this app years ago and it's no better now. Been at it for over an hour now and can't get one light connected. Smart pairing never works, manual pairing will connect one light and then can't control that light as soon as you connect a second. I remember it working pretty well previously if you had the patience to set it up. Can't find the lights, can't connect to the wifi, just one issue after another.
2023-10-31 | zack weddle | This version of the app works great, I won't be going to the new version, I have had these bulbs in my home for the last 2 years without issue. Pros: Turn lights on from anywhere Bulbs aren't hot Bulbs last for years Customization of colors Cons: Good luck not having internet App is a bit slow Wish there was more in stock of custom displays and colors instead of dull (color) overlapping a dimmer (color) Turning the power off screws the connection, have fun reconnecting all lights.
2023-01-24 | Parris | Honestly, I love the app, I just wish it had one option that idk if it exist in other apps or lights, but it would eb dope if it existed. Triggering other lights not on the same circuit when one light is turned on from the switch. I know they offer switches for the wiz lights, but my basement has a switch and pull strings, would be nice to hit the switch and all the lights turn on and off triggered by the switched light turning on.
2022-09-25 | Tyler Fritz | The ui is designed by people who want the world to burn. Why would anyone want the color of the lights to cycle with each turn on, and especially why is it the default!?!? I know it's a neat feature and you're proud of building it, but you need to stop and think of it's the correct choice for users. Also where are the bulk actions? The default case is that you'd want each light in the room to behave the same, and have the option to opt into setting them individually.
2022-09-15 | Fiona | It worked pretty well until I had to change the router password. That setting was impossible to find. Even on the support site I couldn't find it. The only way to get the lights working again was to delete the app and start over completely from scratch. Part of the problem might be that I'm using Android and the support information seems to be for the iOs. I wasn't able to find the screen for the most basic thing of changing my password so that was very disappointing.
2022-03-26 | James Patton | I don't usually rate apps but this is a special kind of awful experience. I've tried to connect one single bulb for 20 minutes. The first puzzle is to get the bulb to flash blue. This requires impeccable timing. If you switch apps or make a mistake, you will have to go back through the menu. Every time you have to go back to the menu you have to retype the Wi-Fi password. When I finally got to the temporary Wi-Fi network to connect to I connected to it but the app did not move forward. Help.
2022-03-21 | James McFall | Could be fantastic but User Interface is terrible. Are the 0 UE engineers at WIZ. Can't add 2 seperate homes. Adding products and settings are so clumsy, not well thought out. Only good thing is Samsung SmartThings can take over control. Come on guys put some effort in this app. Adding seasonal color schemes the coders are all over that. Have an app function seamlessly, not so much. You want an app to emulate look at look at Google WIFI, everything is intuitive and functions flawlessly. |
