Good but needs improvement. After trying to make Synology Photos work as my personal cloud (only does one-way backup),I've settled on Synology Drive for now, syncing my four relevant photos directories from Pixel 7 phone (1)DCIM/Camera, 2)Screenshots, 3)Whatsappp-saved, and 4)Downloads). This way, photos are backed up but also delete/sync on the NAS when I delete images that are no longer needed. App can't yet compete with Google because "sync on demand" is missing.
Works, but needs improved. Biggest issue I have is whenever roaming networks, uploads get interrupted. This can be Wi-Fi/cellular or even toggling a VPN. Instead of uploads continuing where they left off, they are completely abandoned and marked as failed. Huge flaw that needs addressed. Can't say whether downloads have the same or similar issue. Compression, file blocks, and hashes are the biggest way to adapt to interrupted downloads. This should be standard everywhere on Synology.
Poor solution :( Some of the files are not syncing. For example: you're uploading 10 files from your phone to your NAS. You started the upload, and you switched to a different app. Sometimes, some of the files won't be uploaded :( Yes, if the connection was dropped, the drive on the phone will not try to upload the files again and again. People are losing critical data. Do yourself a favor and get Google drive. Also, sometimes the drive client doesn't work with ExpressVPN. App crashes randomly
