2024-10-26 | Jeremy Lueken | Still no fix for my Google Pixel 8 Pro running the latest Android 15. The app use to work great but the app will not show any upload speed as it is ALWAYS 0. It's been over a Week and still nothing. I even tried to uninstall and reinstall and still will not show any upload speeds. I've been a long time power user of this app but I think I may need to look elsewhere. 1 Star until fixed.
2024-09-06 | Tina | Use this reg & its usually good most times. The info can prove really helpful & useful when trying to defend urself against mobile carrier claims of service etc in ppls local area but some of the data recently don't seem accurate at all anymore not sure what happened. The tower data looks same etc but for ex the arrow pointing in direction of ur connected cell tower doesn't make any sense cuz it points in the opposite direction now. And moves constantly?! Would VPN cause this inaccurate readin?
2024-02-09 | Andy Cottam | I believe in open signal and have kept it installed for many years allowing for data collection. But I haven't opened it in a long time. Boy did it get clunky. Does not feel nearly as useful as it used to. And I thought I remember it having a signal strength meter for the cell radio but I couldn't find it at all. I'm kind of disappointed in what this app has become overtime. Although it's maps are still quite useful the app itself is not very data-oriented which is the only reason why I use it
2023-11-22 | David Fewless | One of few cell tower apps that actually works. Unlike others I have tried, the map display actually works, and shows the location of the cell towers in the area where I am. And, on top of it, it has a network speed testing tool which can actually test the speed and video quality of the cellular networks in addition to WiFi networks. The downside is that this application really needs more than an update, it needs a total overhaul, because there's no 2G or 3G anymore, only 4G and 5G now.
2023-10-12 | Stephen R | Was hoping to use the app to determine which cell provider provides the most overall coverage area. It tells most of the ones I'd wanted to know, as well a rinky-dink provider with 2 towers, or 3. But for some odd reason, it doesn't provide anything for T-Mobile AT ALL. It's kind of useless without being able to tell who's better between the big 3, if one of them bigger of them isn't even listed.
2022-11-30 | Isaac M | This app is cool! It allows you to see every single tower your phone could connect to.(keep in mind you could only see your provider towers) it also came with a handy speed tester! I'm not too sure about the follow the arrow thing... It doesn't work for me but I'm sure It would work for others! Overall great way to see my cell phone tower!
2022-04-12 | Pivot Points | The new app has hidden and over simplified the cell phone tower locations map. This was an important feature since phones often use multiple towers at once with Dual-Band Dual-Cell HSDPA. Now it just points to the closest tower. If no one has already tested in that location (often happens in remote areas) this make it more difficult to figure how to get the best signal between towers or for planning a trip in advance with the inability to choose a different location and the lack of information.
2022-03-04 | Peter K. Flores | Although the app has a considerable array of features, it is still simple and straightforward to use. Furthermore, one of the reasons I'm giving it five stars is that there is no shortage of explanations for the technical terms having to do with telecommunications, wireless signals, data streams etc. I was never bothered by any ads, and the physical functionality of it and the extensive database of coverage maps is not lacking at all, in my opinion.
2022-02-04 | Leta Dunlap | Improved my signal tenfold, immediately, on test setup and rough guess at the direction of the nearest tower. I have a Verizon 4G phone which, prior to the booster, picked up only 1.2 Mbps download, 191 kbps upload, with 315 ms latency. Always had just one bar, frequently dropped calls. I now have just two bars, but 11.2 Mbps download, 1.57 Mbps upload, with 48 Ms latency. And it's not even up on a pole nor adjusted to the best angle yet! Phenomenal improvement.
2021-08-26 | bob nestle | New phone (S7) locate cell tower points the wrong way! I know where the new tower is, and app points about 90 degrees west of actual new tower. No service before new tower. Map portion shows no towers. LOVE THIS App. It helped me find a signal booster/range extender a neighbor added to steal my internet connection. PS they had to trespass as I am in the middle of 15 acres. Thanks! |
