Just finished it, 65 hours. Top tier story, gameplay and music, but if you are like me, you are here for Master Toriyama's chraracters, his heroes and monsters and landscapes. Well, you wont be disapointed. Dragon Quest is medieval DBZ. This is the perhaps the best of the classic DQs but you may want to try I or III or IV first, but that's up to you. Cheers!

More character development than the previous title. The description is accurate when it comes to viewing the adventure from the perspective of three subsequent generations. Spoiler: an interesting twist occurs in the third generation. Also, we have a villain who holds a seemingly lifelong grudge against the protagonist (you). The feud with the antagonist feels like a blood feud between the game and the player.

Amazing port to a classic Super Famicom tale. We never got DRAGON QUEST V in the West originally, however this upscaled port of the DS remake is absolutely the definitive way to play this title. The controls are great and easy to learn, a really fun and engaging story with many twists and turns, pretty decent difficulty, colorful characters and sharp strategic gameplay. This is one of the stronger Dragon Quest titles and if you are looking for a start, this one is most definitely worth a try. :)

This is one of the best Dragon Quest games. It's got a really good story, simple gameplay, nice graphics and does the job of pulling all of it together well. it has one of the most wicked villains of all gaming time in it though. Now for the flaws, which are a few. The touch screen controls aren't that great. You'll find yourself falling in holes pretty often, because it's hard to control properly. It's very grind heavy you really have to spend a lot of time leveling up and it slows it down.

It's a really great port of an already amazing game. I played it on the DS when it was first released, and this mobile version does a good job recreating that handheld feel (and the 3D environments look much better than on the DS). A heartwarming story with lovable characters, classic JRPG gameplay and challenging difficulty. The controls will take some getting used to, so I hope SquareEnix will consider controller support in a future update (that's my only nitpick, honestly).

I been a fan of the Dragon Quest game series since childhood, and only discovered the older games as I got older. I speak from experience that this is by far the best entry so far on my experience. Not just from story but you can alsi have a family which no other Dragon Quest game has done. I just wish it becomes more well known, and maybe have a counterpart Crossover game series like Final Fantasy with Kingdom Hearts.

Holy cow this game is amazing. Just how I remember it years ago, only it's always with me now on my phone! The graphics, the story, the combat and party system are all top notch and a high point for the series ,"I've played them all even the Japanese releases" . This port is very well done and I had prepared to complain about controls but as soon as I gained movement,I was happily suprised. Everything here is a 10/10 and I must say with some of Squares shoddy ports, this one redeems them.

This game is fantastic for old or new fans of the series. For those looking for a starting point in the Dragon Quest series, this game follows the same storyline in the Netflix adaptation of "Dragon Quest: Your Story". As for long time Dragon Quest lovers, many will say this is their favorite game and the one with the most replay value. An optional monster catching and battling system that inspired Pokémon, an excellent story that spans 3 generations, and a memorable overall experience.

This is a great port of one of the best video games ever made. If you've played Dragon Quest games on console or handheld systems and are hesitant to play on mobile, please rest assured that once you get used to the touch controls, you will be fully immersed in the visuals, music, gameplay, and incredible story. So happy more gamers now have easier accessibility to this incredible game and series!

This game plays great and looks great. (Playing on Galaxy S20 FE). The only complaint I have is the quick save feature. Since at times on a mobile device you may have to return to the home screen for a call or text and can lose progress if the game drops out of ram it would be nice to be able to save any time. It's a little limited on when you can save.
