Definitely my favorite game of all time. The controls take some getting used to, you can't mute the music/sounds, and you can't customize the background colors like you can in the SNES version, but it does have the updated additional content from the DS version (no spoilers from me, if you know, you know!) Update: after the most recent update, I cannot progress past the first Lavos encounter, the game auto closes. You can now mute the music, but only through gaming hub, not the game itself.

My game stalls when Spekkio grants the party magic and I cant progress because of this bug. I also get the black screen/no sound bug that plenty of other people are getting. I'm refunding for now and I'll check back in a year to see if Square Enix has fixed the bugs. 1 Star still because Square threw a fit when I tried to refund. Game worked eventually but should have been fixed much faster.

Turn based right, 10/10 storyline, 10/10 characters, 10/10 pacing, for its time the graphics and art direction was second to none, one of the best original sound tracks for any video game ever made. Literally played and beat this game HUNDREDS of times. If you have one game on your phone it has to be this one.

The game is great but at the very end when Lavos is defeated the game stops. With a message saying that Chrono Trigger has stopped working. Could you please fix this so I can continue to view the endings and in to the new game plus. I am a huge fan of Chrono Trigger and of Chrono Cross. I hope that Chrono Cross would be available also for android. Update: Game problems are fixed. Game play is much better. Thank you.

Would be a 5 star. However, I have run into a serious issue: After creating a new game, saving Merle, and returning, I saved and closed the app... now, when I try to start the game, I am greeted with nothing but a black screen. Nothing happens no matter how long I wait, and when I go to close the app, the game flickers in and out and does nothing. I've tried restarting my phone, and reinstalling the app to no avail. Using a Galaxy S22+

AWESOME! Been playing this since the SNES and still own my copy. Only 4* cuz targeting an enemy is awkward, and you'll sometimes go after the wrong enemy, making your TEC not hit all who were intended. And, to fix the 'no sound bug', you'll have to use the "<" to close the app by selecting the "Close the game?", then use the "|||" to reopen the game. If you see the white background with the SQUARE ENIX logo, you should hear the "clock ticking sound" on the Title Screen (along with the music). 😋

Held off on purchasing the game after reading the reviews. After awhile I decided to give it a shot. Fast forward the clock and I'm 30hrs in and ive almost 100%'d the game. I didn't have any technical issues with the game whatsoever, there are some frustrations in combat during tense situations where It was hard to attack accurately, but for $5 I'm glad I finally played this game. Would recommend 👍

Frequently has issues loading that result in no audio. The cloud storage and cleaner interface should have been the main reason to play this on android instead of steam, but the cloud storage doesn't work. The game has good autosaving, which is nice because the game crashes often. Controls are clunky even with an Xbox series X controller. It's also weird how they renamed a bunch of items. I recommend playing this on steam.

So, I love this version. I never realized how great touch controls make JRPG's until now. But I do get the bug where the screen stays black whenever I launch the game after after shutting it down. But I found that if I press the Home button and then use the App Overview button (three lines) to go back to the game, the game will appear.

This is a very good port, with a very good retranslation, but I need to dock it a star because it has a seriously annoying bug. For some reason, the Square Enix logo fails to load, and then when you try to play, it has no sound. The only solution is to repeatedly open and close the game until the logo pops up. It sometimes takes up to 10 attempts to get the game to start.
