New app version limits share options. It offers game launcher, several browsers, one sms app (which I don't use). No email app offered. Have to share to browser so I can share via sms or email. Bunch of fools designed this app.

1. Tapping a push notification doesn't work to open the app 2. Trying to find an article that was presented in a push notification is extremely difficult 3. There is too much of a national/pop culture focus on the articles that are given prime real estate in the app. I subscribe because I want local info, not breaking news about Ukraine, or Taylor Swift's European tour. I have other news outlets for those things. 4. There's no way to fine tune what topics I get push notifications about.

The app is worse than using the webpage. I'd like to see the 'front page' of the app feature more stories and unique stories in each section. There's no reason to repeat the same stories in multiple sections when there are so few stories to begin with.

Doesn't crash for me, but mobile experience is too simplistic and has poor UX. I subscribed, loaded the app, and pretty quickly decided to cancel my subscription, because the app makes consuming the news quite difficult. The design, particularly on mobile, is bad, take a look at top newspapers like NYTimes, or even the local SF Chronicle. There isn't a quick and easy way to get to important things like election coverage, or filter out stuff I don't want like sports (which eats the front page).

This new app is a mess! After 7 years of using the old app with no problems, this update just flat doesn't work! Been on the phone 3 separate times. Dumped the old app, reinstalled, changed email addresses and passwords and no matter what, it keeps telling me my user name and password is not valid (and that's with the help desk walking me thru the set up process step by step) Temp password they gave me doesn't work. New email reset password link never sent via email as promised. A total cluster

No highlight or copy text means one cannot easily do a web lookup for words, phrases or names referenced in articles, which is very useful when reading articles. Every other news app I use allows this. Really a poor app that doesn't allow such.

Regularly has authentication problems. Even though I am a paying subscriber, it often won't let me read articles.

I've always liked my hometown paper and downloaded the app after I learned that improvements were made. My only nit is that I'd like to be able to save articles for futures reading đź“š. Otherwise, The Mercury's app is great.

They send you notifications all day long. There's no way to stop it. I read the Mercury news everyday in the paper version. This app would be fine if they would stop constantly sending me notifications

Inconsistent. Sometimes I can read articles in the app, sometimes it takes me to the website where I have to log in again.
