2024-06-12 | d blues | I use it with alternate tunings and frequency 432 etc. move things around, never just standard 440, never! chords as well, great for transposing! While creating strange and beautiful chords, open tunings also.... Thanks again! Can't tell you how many times this app has been used, so handy! tuning friends acoustic and electric guitars... Thanks again!
2024-03-11 | Scott Biggs | Has nice features, but messed up on something very important: it got left/right as sharp and flat backwards. Sharp should be to the right, not to the left. Absolutely counterintuitive. Messed me up during a studio season. While i really like everything else about it, i have to use a different app; i can't risk making the same mistake. (There doesn't seem to be a setting to reverse this.)
2024-01-18 | Martin Flynn | Former 5 Star review: Easy to use. Great for alternate tunings. Update: Sadly, the new version of the free app is terrible. Visually, it has no style and is completely generic. Practically, it is harder to read than the old one. There is no simple way to exit the app, an annoying app trend. Obviously, they want you to pay now for what was free last year by just downgrading the free product to something no one would want.
2023-09-03 | Lymanity | This app provides many features that couldn't be found before all in one place. You can customize the user interface as well. My favorite features are being able to set A=x amount of hertz. This lets me experiment with historical tunings when I pair it with the temperament feature. I think despite having some advanced features, this app is great for beginners out of the box and doesn't require any technical or theoretical knowledge to use.
2023-05-21 | NewSong Studio | This is the best tuning app I've found so far. It's a little confusing compared to other apps as to whether you need to go up or down, but the response time to the plucked string is good, and there's no weird flashing lights like some others I've tried. I hate that they spelled piano wrong, but after trying many tuning apps, this one is satisfactory. I like that I can change how precise it is, and the value of A for my students that don't like 440 🙄
2023-05-08 | A Daly | I've been using this app almost daily for 7-8 years. It is simple and does exactly the one function it's supposed to do. No extra bells and whistles, but it gets its one job done correctly and doesn't need a WiFi connection to run. The one tiny annoyance is that the default setting puts sharp tunings on the left and flat tunings on the right. That probably works well in countries with right->left writing systems, but not mine. It's easily switched in the settings, though. Love this app!
2023-03-11 | A Google user | Been using since 2017. Simple, intuitive, great interface. All the options you need in a chromatic tuner for acoustic instruments (calibration, sensitivity, display, etc). Tracks well. The ads were fairly unobtrusive but the app works so well to tune acoustic instruments I had no hesitation paying for it. It is even better without the ads.
2022-11-04 | Brandon Perkins | I really like that I can adjust the frequency that I'm tuning to. As I can tune to 432hz rather than the industry standard 440hz. Also it's more accurate than ANY clip on tuner I've used! I'm a luthier, and my bread & butter is setups and repairs, as custom made guitars don't pay bills. They meerly feed my soul. Oh, my point is: I completely trust this app for setting intonation. That's a pretty big deal.
2022-08-20 | Justin Marcus | No data collection ! Thank You! I left G-strings because of this. I like that it's a flexible chromatic tuner, with simple intuitive display. Things that could improve IMO: Portrait or Landscape modes; Also low to high should be left to right; not the other way around! (or at least have an option for that).Mic sensitivity needs attention for quiet instruments. And one reviewer said it is 3 cents off in accuracy since recent update: that is super important to fix of course.
2022-03-09 | DaveyDacusGuitars | This used to be my favorite tuner. Now there seems to be some adjustment to microphone sensitivity that is not working well for me. I'm sitting in a quiet room with an unplugged electric guitar and it will not pick up the sound of the strings unless the body of my guitar is basically touching the phone. This thing used to pick up notes from across the room but now barely picks up my guitar?? I saw some reviews where people complain about it being too sensitive. Maybe make that adjustable?? |
