| 2024-11-26 |  | | My videos don't have sound and haven't for months but works on every other app I have. There is a log in my phone that shows when and how long snapchat used the microphone so the issue has to be in the app. Also, photos/videos are set to "save for 24 hours" but the stuff doesn't actually save and this has been going on for a while as well. I've reported these issues a couple of times but nothing has been fixed and no one from snapchat has reached out to help or give an explanation. |
| 2024-11-26 |  | | Every now and then, messages received are disappearing along with my own. After it seems like everyone's profile just goes blank or shows me a black screen. The app eventually fixes itself the next day. It was okay at first, but now it seems like it's happening every other day. None of the updates have managed to fix this problem. Don't know what to do other than to ignore it until it fixes itself 🤷🏻♀️ |
| 2024-11-26 |  | | It's fantastic, but there is a bug now where when you try to take a pic with the back camera with your flash on, it just doesn't. As in, when it's loading to capture the pic, it doesn't capture. It's like it's taking a video with the flash still left on and nothing happening on the screen. I have to completely exit out of the app and go back in for it to work again. |

Unfortunately corporate greed from a business that likely already makes plenty of money from the app is getting in the way of a good user experience. I'm impressed with how they are consistently able to find new places to squeeze ads and add annoyances that you can only get rid of if you pay for their premium account. Like pining the AI bot to the top of your chat. Adding ads to my chat that appear to be a video sent by a friend is ridiculous. |
| 2024-11-25 |  | | I bought Snapchat+ to give it a try and there's really no advantages other than seeing half-swiping, when people are on the chat, or customizing the app, which is really unnecessary. the whole thing is mainly for customization for 30 bucks a year. I've had it for about four years, but there's really no point. even with he snap+ there's ads everywhere, even on spotlights now. there's an add on the stories every 20 seconds. otherwise it's an amazing texting app and for face timing. |
| 2024-11-25 |  | | Hey, the adds disguised as friends snaps is super predatory and annoying. Make an option to turn it off. Everytime I see a movie ad in my snaps, it convinces me to NEVER watch it. I don't go to snap to get food recs or movie recs, I go to communicate with my friends. Also, the AI is annoying, I don't even want to see it. AGAIN, make it and option to remove it. Yall are not IG or tiktok, yall can chill with the extra bells and whistles that just clutter up your app. |
| 2024-11-25 |  | | This review is for their newest feature. They now send ads like they were snaps. It sends notifications like you got a snap, but it's just an ad. I'm not going to open any of them and even if I'm interested in what their advertising, I will completely ignore it just for the annoyance of the ad. I already completly ignore everything in the story section because they throw an ad at you every 10 seconds, now I'll be turning off notifications which in return will be using snapchat less. |

Also, when you take a photo it automatically gets applied a "smoothing" filter which can't be removed, and takes away from all the details of the photo... You also can't choose how much light enters the frame. |

The ads are exhausting and invasive, the newest update pushes ads into your inbox masked as a message and doubled the ads in spotlight, putting them both in videos and keeping them in between videos. Several of the updates this year have made my user experience worse. P.S. The AI sucks and you can't remove it from your messages. |

On top of that, Snap stories are absolute clickbait garbage and it keeps giving me notifications to add people I don't even know. I'd delete snap with no hesitation if all my friends didn't use it. Don't know what they see on this glitchy, garbage app, but I guess I'm stuck with it until I can convince them to get Discord. Or more unlikely, until Snapchat fixes it's bugs and content. |
