When doing solar photography, you can not put on exposure times less than 1 seconds. Typically 1/1000 sec. or .001 sec should be able to be entered, but you can't, the decimal point is disabled. Fine for long exposure night time photography of stars, comets, and planets.
Not quite sure what all the grief is about, the app works pretty well. I have successfully connected my phone to it and via snap cable to my camera. Without the snap cable you won't be able to use the app function but all in all works great.
Used to work fine on older phone. Won't even connect to WiFi on android 12 Xperia 1, although app does open, can't use it. Appears to work fine on ios, but don't really want to bring a second phone/tablet along to simply get it to run. I have had the mini a few years now, so I suppose this is a lesson. Hardware that cannot be used without an app is likely to become a paperweight unless the app is continually updated and reviewed.
