2024-12-16 | Alicia Thomson | I just started yet when it gave me a question I couldn't scroll down to see the other answers and I kept trying and there is nothing to change that
2024-12-13 | F H | Nice. I've started trying it. So far, so good. Edit: There's one thing I've noticed - at the end of the units, there's a conversation. I've just completed lesson 1 of basic sentences. The conversation at the end should be related to the topic of the lesson. The conversation used new vocabulary that was not studied in any previous lesson.
2024-10-01 | Jonnel Oseo | I learned much better and It is easy to inculcate.
2024-08-30 | Nooryesmin Pawan Jalaluddin | It is a good app but it did not start exactly with basics, like 1,2,3. Probably because it is for adulta, I guess.
2024-02-14 | T Nz | Lag. Login in main-app allows Google, this one doesn't. TY for reading. Edit: i meant lag in general, login was its own\separate problem.. Main-app was also uninstalled because random course material (relation\level-insensitive vocab) and non-free courses in other languages.. Too bad since stroke\romanization guides are rare in language learning apps..
2023-09-27 | Meva Rakotomavo | Overall the app is good. The sentence structure, the basics that we start with are really useful. I'm having some recurring problems with the speaking part, when I record myself 1 time out of 3 the app doesn't take it into account so I end up skipping which is a shame because learning the tones and to say them correctly is essential in Cantonese. Being able to listen to oneself and compare it to the native would also help learners improve.
2023-06-21 | Tammy Y. | Good Cantonese learning app (one of the few available). Some glitches with how it "grades" your speaking and I wish it would have a lesson on the tones and grammar. Update: after a few weeks of using the app, I'm deducting 2 stars (previously 4 star review). There are a lot of glitches with the speaking portion and the translation parts need to recognize more acceptable answers. They should also devote some lessons to grammar, esp w/ how rigid they're about exact translation
2023-03-24 | Jeremiah Kirkman | Only just started with it today, but really enjoying the format so far. The combination of the slow spoken option and having the phonetic transcript (needs to be activated in the settings) makes it really accessable for beginners like me. An audio lesson on the tones would be really helpful though. A lesson to help gain an understanding of characters would be good too please.
2023-01-15 | Alicia D | I'm paying for the monthly subscription and I'm happy with my progress, but the latest update took away the ability to toggle the phonetic translation on and off mid-lesson. This was really vital to the way I was using the app. If they bring this back, I'll change to 5 stars, but as it is now, I'm pretty bummed out that they updated this feature away. It's hard for me to use without it.
2022-08-15 | Christopher van Vreden | Have to say after taking in-person courses that this is really a solid alternative! Canto is tough as nails if you're not familiar, but given the visual / hearing / matching experience with Ling I can really see myself keep it together & progress. DEFINITELY give it a whirl if you're looking to pick up the basics for conversation as alternatives are lackluster & overwhelming whereas here it's fun & challenging 🙌 |
