2024-02-21 | Isaac O | Absolutely phenomenal app. Feels very similar to Duolingo in terms of teaching but also allows you to practice saying the words and sentences from each lesson. My only complaint is that for learning Japanese there is no option to turn the translation from Romanji to Hiragana. I heavily try not to use Romanji as I end up memorizing the word in English instead of native Japanese, plus using Hiragana over Romanji helps in pronunciation and understanding of words.
2023-03-01 | D Bro | Love the chat bot and the pace of learning. The speaking practice is good too, however I feel like the voice detection has gotten slower and worse? I paid for premium and much to my disappointment the review quiz is gone? I can read through my vocab etc but there's no longer a review quiz of all my learned words.
2023-02-18 | Miranda S | Kept asking me to set a daily reminder every time I opened it, even though I had daily reminders turned off in settings. Super annoying. Not very beginner friendly either.
2022-12-31 | A.X. Marcus | The right tool for language learning. With total fluency in 3 languages, I can confidently say that this app + wanikani is an excellent way to expand one's knowledge and understanding of Japanese. The fact that you can hide romaji is a blessing.
2021-05-02 | Blank [¡] Trex | One of the best platform if you want to learn pronouns, nouns etc grammer portion with random sentences that will make you good learner. Few improvement needs to be done like this app should be more optimised. A very little bit click issues but overall I love it. Thats why I have given 5 star.
2021-01-05 | Marcel Izumi | Everything about this app has been well thought out. Excellent interface design. Excellent implementation. Pleasant variety of exercises. Five stars for that. Minus two for falling short on the important aspect of content quality control. I'm trying to study Japanese with this app and sadly, the number of translation mishaps I've encountered are inexcusable.
2020-05-09 | Michael aguilar | Very useful app! I use it for Japanese and I recommend it for practicing new situations and vocabulary. I also use it to keep learning kanji reading and practice grammar in daily life situations. I'd say some basic knowledge of Japanese is needed but it should not stop you to have your own experience. Every new update has been better than the last one.
2020-03-29 | A Google user | I love the fact that I can do as much as I want I also enjoy that it feels like I'm learning A LOT in a lesson, despite it being a few exercises long and I love the conversation at the end. It really helps with understanding the rules of formal japanese I've learned a bit of sentence structure solely from the given examples and I love that everything can be reviewed whenever I want without having to search too far
2020-03-24 | A Google user | Seems like it might be good I liked the addition of learning hiragana. The sentences were oddly constructed in places though some of the words ran together when they shouldn't have and others were separate that shouldn't have been. Theres were spelling errors in places. And this was just in the basics. Which is all you can access without a subscription.
2019-11-27 | A Google user | Ling, in terms of user experience seems great. However, the content is a bit on the confusing side. I've been taking lessons while using Ling and other apps and Ling seems to throw a lot of different particles and words at you without knowledge of why they're used or what they might be. Eg: the introduction lesson only highlights all the pronouns mid way through the lesson rather than at the start. The introduction chatbot also throws genki desu ka? (how are you?) at you before you've learnt it. |
